l am leaning towards a 'Sun System Magnetic Trifeca' kit, it comes with a 1000w switchable ballast & a 'bat wing' reflector and a HPS bulb. I can then use the MH bulbs l got as needed during the future cycles. It's prices are all over the place, but l found a cheaper source in a B.C. gardening site that'll ship to me and address any issues l may have. The ventilation & filter will have to wait for a little while yet, eh?

Are you buying a new or you buying a used? Cuz if you're spending the money to buy something new HPS is really not the way to go. There very expensive to run compared to other artificial light sources.

So there's ones just like this on eBay with a lightbulb that'll screw right into your HPS reflector that you have right now for about a $135.00 bucks ballast socket adapter and a light bulb

@Growtogrow, I don't think I'll buy used anymore. The light l bought without looking is wired right to the ballast òn the POS I bought, no plug, straight wired naked with ancient tape. I just bought bulbs apparently. I'll use these darn bulbs. This system will come fresh and new in a box and a legit vendor to help with issues that may arise. I will just stick to ancient razors. My oldest one is a 1916 Gillette, uses modern blades, which are cheap as chips compared to cartridges.

OTOH, screw ins grow good weed for cheap...

See my grow and review for what I used with great results. I definitely would not be putting more money into non-led lighting at this point, there are lots of great led options without breaking the bank, and you will save lots of electricity in the longer run.
