Live Stoner Chat Hello AFN!

Those pictures from above, they are autos right?

as far as what I like/love about em. Simply put I can produce cannabis at about 2X the rate of photoperiod growers. I can get 6 harvests a year vs 3 maaaaaybe 4 with photoperiod plants. I produce on a larger scale than a lot of folks who grow autos. Most grow for personal use. I produce to sell it. So my main goals when growin are speed, yield and potency. This is a picture from hybrid greenhouse setup from a couple years ago. 12x24’-48 plants total- 4000 watts of HID(DE HPS and CMH) running at night. Theyd get natural sun all day then the artificial at night. I got 11+ lbs in right at 60ish days in a 6.5X13’ growing area.

the bottom is a picture of my current grow which is just a scaled down version of my one from a couple years ago. It’s 8X12 with 2k watts of MH/HPS runnin at night.
Also the fact that with the right setup you really don’t have to do anything to autos. Because they can(and in my humble opinion they do best) under 24 hours of light that literally eliminates half of the hassles of growin photoperiod plants. No worrying about light leaks or flower rooms and tents and veg rooms and tents and clone rooms and tents. All of that is taken out of The equation. Oh and not to mention it costs about 50-75% less in the cost of nutrients, as autos need waaaaaaaay less than photos. I am impatient by nature and love how I can literally watch em grow every day almost from start to finish. I am dedicated to this auto life to say The least. Hell my avatar is my AFN old school logo tattoo I got a couple years back.

sorry to go on a long post. But I love autos and think they are the future of commercial cannabis growing! If you ever have any questions don’t Hesitate to tag me, pm me or stop by my threadhttps://www.autoflower.org/threads/another-dream-farm-project.78591/

doin a fat ass dab after wiring all that. My fingers are wore out lol

would you mind giving me some of the things you love most about em compared to traditional plants?
I think the best thing I like about them is not worrying about light leaks or power outages. I know when a bad lighting storm blows up, I can unplug my lights and not worry about hermies. Also, the fact that they can be so quick. I have a couple strains I grow when I'm short on weed that are ready in 60 - 70 days tops. :pass:

I got my Mephisto RL packs in the mail last night! the freebies were Double grape x skywalker, AvT x 3bog and skywalker x 3bog! I'm so excited about the freebies I'm starting one of each today! i did the math, worked out to 6.80 cdn a seed!

No, those are photoperiod strains that I posted the pictures of. I know this is an auto forum, but I don't have much to show on that front quite yet.

I have a few autos outside right now, but I have yet to grow one indoors. (it's coming, this fall!!!)

I love the idea of your greenhouse by day, indoor grow at night setup. I want to make something like that now ha. but. I think making it run year round up here in Canada might be a bit of a SOB.(for heating and cooling) something to look into for the future.

ALSO: I appreciate both of you taking time to outline why you love autos. Some really good points and a few i had never considered before!

I've always thought of using hydro 18-24h of the day as a real downside of growing them indoors. my lights already make up a sizeable chunk of my energy bill. Turning em up from 13h to 24 makes me shudder. (we have time of day hydro pricing) I'm running 3 tents. 2 flower 1 veg although not running the veg tent is appealing (if i ever abandon my photo period strains i have going)

I love the idea of being able to grow any strain outside. In my region, it's a short and quick flower period. (that has been turned into an auto ;) ) for outdoors, I found 8 weeks strains super stressful because of all the cold rainy fall weather we get. I've tried to target early finishing strains because of this, but that limits one's options SOOOO much!

So the thought of having autos that make bud that's of comparable quality (maybe even better, we will see) to what I've been growing outside but now with ALL these strains that have been out of reach is very exciting.

I would love to learn about how one goes about making a photoperoiod plant into an autoflower and start putting some of my fave strains into autoflowers! I hope to learn about that on here eventually. but baby steps, and not too much at once!

About autos:
I think they are going to be big and we are just beginning to learn about how and why these can be so exciting. (at least no one in my neck of the woods cares, everyone says, [TRIGGER WARNING] ROFL ;) "autos are junk".) I hope to be an early adopter of em. Most people around here think concentrates are dry, hard crumbly hash or black, iso oil. they don't know how lovely concentrates really are.

I'm very excited to be starting this adventure :)

Ah lol you see I grow in southern Colorado in the San Luis valley. It gets down to -40F(that is not a misprint it is one of the coldest places in north America.) and I have run through the winter here. The key is using MH/HPS for the heat. I also run a propane heater when it gets really cold, that has 2 benefits one is the heat and The other is the cO2 :) it also can get into the 90’s(it will be 93 today also I am at almost 9k ft elevation so the UV is about 2X more intense lol) here during the summer and I run em just fine. Trust me if I can run em like this here you can run them anywhere.

Yeah man! the idea of running only at night and using the daylight during the day is very appealing! :)

for now it's a dream but knowing that you are running it where it gets very cold too gives me hope!

I bet that 2x UV does neat things to em! UV is a parameter i want to play with more!

wow dude! very impressive! that first shot, did hte plant give muce more than that or is that the whole thing?!?

what breeders do you like to use the most? how come?

That plant was close to 200 grams dry. I only grow Mephisto for the most part. They have been head and shoulders above the rest for a long time. Folks are starting to catch up now, but honestly a lot of Them that are worth anything have Mephisto heritage in them.

what have they done that no one else has? by that i am asking why does their product stand out over everyone else like that? I have heard this a few times...

on that note: here are the new seeds! the others side of that page is completely full!
