Well it seems my other plant is showing problems now.
I have them under a 400W HPS and the Temp at the tops of the plants are about 79-81°. I have them about 8-10" away from light. I also have a Oscillating fan blowing on them (on Low).
I tried to get some good pics and even though I have camera set to use flash on every picture it didn't seem too, or if it did you can barely notice.
I watered them last night, plain water with a pH about 6.5
Should I have flushed them while watering? I only watered them till I saw water come out bottom then I stopped.
What does this look like to you guys?

What should I do, I tried looking at "The Complete guide to Sick Plants,pH, and Pest troubles!" I found at a few sites, but I honestly can't tell. I though the closest ones they looked like were Heat stress or Nute burn.
Any help please?
They are getting yellowish in the leaves and the smaller newer growth are thin and curled up.

Greetings slow to grow, if your temps are what you say they are then they shouldn't be the cause. From what i can see here is something in the roots/soil area.
I cant see the discoloration as good as i would like but sounds to me that there is either a lock out going on or a toxicity.

When you flush you need to make sure that you are getting more than just a little bit out of the bottom. At that point the plant is just watered evenly.
If you intend to flush you need too use as much water as the container size and some say container size +1. I used gal to gal ratio on my flushes and never had an issue
although i grew mostly organic, i still used FF on my test grows.

You need to flush and then check the run of ph to see where the soil is, if you can get a soil ph meter if you dont now your mix that well.
I think that after a good flush they should come around, everything my eye is telling me is that there is a lock out causing a toxicity.

Thank you much. I'll flush them today.
One more question though, Does the water of the flush have to be pH'd or can I just use my normal tap water?
Actually after thinking about that question I would say/think the water needs to be pH'd.
I think I'll go buy a few gallons of distilled water today and use that.
Thanks again.

thats the best thing that you can do. Im sure that your tap is way out as most are.
the distilled will be perfect and i wold use one to flush and then bubble on before you use it.
watch the plant change i promise you.

Well I used some distilled water. Wasn't easy flushing them (did both cause the other was starting to show signs also). I had to do it in my little room so nobody knows.

I pH'd the run off and it was between 5.0-6.0 (well I pH'd it again; same plant water; and it pH'd about 6; 2nd plants water pH'd about 6 also) on the bottle. I wish I had a nice pH meter and I think I'm going to have to get one when I have the money.
I pH my feeding water at about 6.5 and I thought FFOF was pH'd around 6.3-6.5 (or so I thought I read) and I know distilled is about 6.0. So I'm not sure why the run off is so low. So should I be pH'ing my water closer to 7 then? I'm going to pH some more water and bubble it and then give them another watering, but now I'm not sure where I should pH my water at.

Thank you much for your help FD. It is very much appreciated.

It could have been a number of things that caused it and it sounds to me that the soil may not be light enough.
I learned that if in soil and you need to flush its important to have the ability to.Hydro systems make this easy but they are harder to maintain.
So if the soil is light you get good pass through and the roots like the light soil allows them to move and prune to feeder roots.

If your numbers from run off are what you say they are let you net round of pH'ed water be in the 6.5 to 7 range.
if i remember there are things in that soil that buffer the pH. This should help the balance.

Cool thanks again FD.
Well they are about 2.5 gallons of soil in a 3 gallon bag (will fill bags up all the way next time) and after maybe 1/2 gallon of water it starts to leak out of bottom. It seems like the water goes through the soil pretty fast also. I have the soil at a 75%/25% ratio of FFOF/Perlite.
I'm bubbling some water now and I pH'd it between 6.5-7.
I normally only watered plant each plant with half a gallon (till water came out bottom). This was my first flush.
Well the water I'm bubbling now I'm going to run a gallon through each plant/bag so it'll be like a little flush with a higher pH.
I plan on doing that tomorrow morning.
I hope all this helps.
Thanks again FD. This being my first grow and only having the 2 plants I don't want to lose them or cause them irreparable harm.

you welcome mate, :bong:

Sounds like you have a plan, and remember that they need some time to use the water that you put in the soil, i know you feel that this is an emergency but be patient
so before you water again make sure the soil is still not saturated. If it is you will only be adding more issues to your plate, like over watering. The bubbled water
prevents that to a degree but lets not over do it.

Alright, I'll wait on the watering then. Thank you much for letting me know that. I don't want to cause more problems.
I'm just worried about my plants. This being my first grow I don't know how bad they are or how much damage this is causing them so I do kinda feel like this is an emergency. I'll just wait a few days and see how they turn out and then give them the watering.
Thank you again for all your Help FD. I'll post back here in a few days and let you (and others) know how they are turning out. Or if they have gotten worse.
It's just been so long since I smoked I don't want to screw these up so I'll have to wait even longer, so I'm trying to fix any problems they seem to be having asap.
