This as been happening a few times lately and i dont know why. I successfully germinate the seed and put it in the soil. And then a few days later the seed never pops out and i find it shriveled up in the soil.

Is is the ocean forest w/ perlite to hot?
Is it over or under watering?

Ive had successful grows in the past but recently i only have a 50% success rate getting that sucker to pop out of the soil.

Any suggestions/advice/criticism is welcomed. Try to help a fellow grower out.

Hi ebcrew :) What strains are you popping?
The FFOF can be too hot for seedlings. I recommend filling the center of the pot with something "un-nuted" for the seed to start to grow in. AS it gains root mass, it'll hit the FFOF and take off.
I had that issue for a bit, learned the same leesons lolol
It can really be too hot for some strains. I've grown a couple strains that it didn't even touch.
Best to you!

You don't say how much you were watering. You want to keep soil moist but not keep soaking or flooding.
Happy Frog is a good soil for autos, you'll get some other suggestions I'm sure.
How were you watering after you planted the seed?

Northern Lights auto fem from royal queen seeds.

I prewatered the soil well before dropping them in. And i have been keeping it moist if it dries out.

I like the idea of putting something nute free in the center. If the seed doesnt pop i'll try that.

Yeah, I'm thinking it was your soil being hot.

Update: i moved the soil away to see what the seed was doing, and its looking like it popped out. Not out of danger though.
