Hard seeds

I asked @Fitzy about similar questions and he sent me this link pretty cool and I did something similar by accident playing around and it worked for me. I also use sandpaper. Which I guess is also a way of scarification. Cool listen this I thank Fitzy for it. :toke:
This was an excellent informative video thank you for passing this along.
I am in the process of making my own seed cracker but I also thought about using a pair of vise grip locking pliers because you can adjust the distance that they close.:joy:

Damn that's a good idea man, like I had never considered that I don't how as long as your careful I can think of three ways already to use them. When you make the seed cracker I would be very interested in how that goes for you as I have thought about trying myself.

Hey guys I just wanted to give you a word of caution when cracking seeds.
I haven't made my seed cracker yet and I was just to lazy to go to the garage to get my vise grip pliers.
After watching/listening the video that Bmurrciless posted that was given to him from Fitzy I decided to use the videos advise and crack the seed with my teeth before I put it in paper towel.
I got the seed lined up between my front teeth and lightly applied pressure the seed was hard so I applied a little more pressure then it happened.
I know your thinking I broke a tooth but in fact the seed slipped and shot right down my throat so the local sewage plant could end up with a very well fertilized AK-47 auto lol!
stay safe!!

Sometimes, we don't anticipate the details of the screwup. All too often, I do anticipate it, do the thing anyway, and, lo and behold, the expected screwup happens. Grey hair and not sure I have learned yet.

You could always monitor the toilet - maybe cannabis seeds are like some others and like nothing better than a passage through a gut.

This could be total BS, but it kinda holds out from what I've seen. Seeds from plants we've grown to make bud have a thicker and harder to shed shell. Those that kinda struggle through flower, lacking a little for P&K seem to make much better seeds.

Old trick for stubborn seeds... some 200 grit sandpaper and a matchbox. Line the inside with the sandpaper, drop the seed in and give it a few gentle shakes, then soak.
My old man grew some bonsai tree seeds and they said to use the sandpaper in order to get them to sprout right on the instructions, so likely a good solution to seeds that won't sprout.

Pardon the puns but that really bites and is really shitty lol seriously that does suck but it's all just experience lessons and growth in the end it would be funny if it somehow just grew out randomly somewhere along its journey though.

You could have taken your next couple poops outside in the garden and hoped for the best. :smoking:

Unfortunately my garden in under 3 feet of snow and the temps have been below -20 Celsius there was no winning this one lol!

This is my $5 seed cracker.. Made with basic home depot stuff.. Put the seed in the middle.. Slowly tighten until it cracks.. Easy peasy.. And no seeds get swallowed, lol.

I like your thinking.
I just built 1 from a nut, nyloc nut, wing nut and 1/4 machine screw.
I just drilled through the larger nut and drilled in to the threads on the other side of the large nut. then I ran a tap 1/4 UNC 20 through the hole.
I then threaded the wing nut (backwards) to the top of the machine screw then threaded the nyloc nut to secure the wing nut.

It works like a charm and if your like me and enjoy building things it is one of those projects that will keep on giving lol.
