Hans, your still going to pack it full! Then young ones look damn fine already!

What's up guys, got another grow underway. For this round I’ve got a Sweet Seeds Dark Devil and FastBuds LSD-25 on the go… It has been awhile since I’ve had a fully purple plant so hopefully doubling my chances with these two. I’ve done the DD once before and got a green pheno which was some really good smoke but would love to get a purple one this time. There’s been some really nice looking purple LSD grows here as well so hopefully this will end up being a very colourful grow. ;)

I’ve changed things up a bit for this grow… After getting well over a pound from my last grow which will keep me stocked up for awhile lol I’ve decided to downsize my setup for this round and go back to my old 4x2’ tent. This will also allow me to complete my GoGrow LED test in an area this light can fully cover this time… So won’t be growing any 1lb+ monsters this time around, sorry to disappoint anyone but hopefully I’ll have some purple bud porn to show you soon. :eyebrows:

Setup Details:

Grow Area:
4'x2'x5' Grow Tent
4" S&P TD-100XS Silent Exhaust Fan and Carbon Filter

Lighting:
GoGrow - Virgin 3 LED 320W

Nutrients/Supplements:
Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect Sensi Grow/Boom, Big Bud, Voodoo Juice, Overdrive
Green Planet Terpinator, Pro-Cal
Grotek Pro-Silicate
Optimum Hydroponix Sugar Shack (Replacement for Bud Candy)

Pots:
2x 15L Autopots with AirDomes

Medium:
Mo’Koko Premium Coco Substrate

Also trying to simplify things even more this grow, I've already stopped adding any perlite to my coco and for this grow I've dropped the clay pebbles as well so just straight coco in the pots. Less than 5 minutes to prep both pots can't make it any easier than this... I watered both pots initially with about 1.5L of 5.8 pH water with 2ml/l Voodoo Juice and 1ml/l Cal-Mag.

I’ve got the LED about 35” above them which is as high as I can hang it for now.

Here’s some pics of the current setup.

:pop:Subbed up Hans. Will be interesting to watch you grow a monster with that DD while I grow the same with lesser results. I still haven't gotten the hang of making them look so pretty in the first 10 days. Do you sow your seeds directly in the coco?

Hey Hans, I will be following. But I have a bit of friendly advice. Switch out your BIG AutoPots to the 2.2 gal if you don't want to grow monsters. Obviously strain selection by as a big factor in size...But so does the pot size when using Coco. I would grow 4 plants or more with the amount of Coco used in 1 of the large AutoPots. You can turn on the Airdomes a lot sooner BTW. Been growing in straight Coco for well over a decade, 8gal of Coco is a ton for 1 plant. I am doing a 1 gal grow right now with 6 Toof Decay, 4 above ground already. The ones growing in 2 gal pots are way bigger than expected. Definitely not SOG, as that strain can be with smaller pots. You will do great, too great for a 4x2 my friend!

Hey Hemi, I found a way to get my Autos off excellent everytime, if using g straight Coco. I use the Toilet Paper method to germ, 24-48 hrs. I use a tsp of Mycotex that came with my Biotabs per plant, make a hole with my finger and drop the Mycotex in the hole. Fill the hole with Coco, then water the pot with a light starter feed. My seeds are starting of perfectly healthy enough, no matter the size pot or Cup you start seed in. Since using Mycos my plants have been perfectly healthy from day 1. Before that I had some seedlings stall around day 6-7or look hungry if I used beer cups to start seeds. Now they don't skip a beat. Never had an issue with photo seeds, but Autos and Mycos work well together to get a flawless start. Will use some with my photo seeds now too! Give it a try.

I have done that exactly, except I'm still 50/50 coco/perlite, with this round of Dark Devils with BioTabs, so we shall see what happens. With autopots there seems to be a big delay as their tap root go searching for the bottom.

Do you use the BIG AutoPots? They are bigger than a damn garbage can! The Taproot does take longer to reach the bottom of 3ft of Coco vs 1ft worth. I spent a LOT of money on AutoPots, never even considered using the large ones that come with them! They are still in the wrapping...I use the 2.2 gal

I put a HOLD on my Biotabs and AutoPots. The plants developed a Calmag def. Possibly pH issues as well. I was told NOT to pH my water, but Coco pH is never that high using nutes. The quality was actually good when done, everyone really likes the Sour Crack and 24 Carat I did, but the yield and health of the plants were not what I consider ideal. Biotabs have a new product to help combat Calmag issues, but I don't have it yet, it is an organic Silica product. Coco and Cobs both make plants more Calmag hungry. I will not waste anymore seeds using Biotabs and Coco until I get something to help better. Even tho the final product was decent, they were by far the most unhealthy plants I have ever done...And I have done hundreds upon hundreds of plants. Biotabs work differently in Soil vs Coco, not as fast.
I am not ripping on Biotabs, I spent a LOT of money on them. They will get used, but it is a waste if something isn't changed. I followed instructions, and also tried grinding up a tablet as told by Kees to do so. No matter what method the plants still developed issues. Biotabs have potential in Coco, but not ideal if you follow the directions. Next time I use them I will try pHing the water, even though they say NOT TO. Even gbd suggests pHing water with his Super Soil additive when using Coco. I might try a single plant and follow gbd 's method of layering and pH my water. Good luck
