Just checked trichs again and she's getting more and more every day. Probably less than a week

Decided it was time. Plenty of amber and almost no clear. The top buds are all very dense with almost no leaves. I wish I would have done a better job getting rid of some of the lower leaves but all in all trimming won’t be to bad. Threw her in paper bags and will check on her with the moisture meter in 7-8 days. Hoping it takes 14 to dry enough to trim and jar. She’s stinking up the whole house through the bags so I’m confident she’s gonna smell really good once she’s done.

Well another disappointment. Let her go 8 days in the bags and they were overdried. Way overdried. But the stems still bent and not snapped. The worst part though, the buds were very fluffy. Not even worth trimming. I just broke her down to shake for j’s. Not a total loss but what a beautiful plant she was to have her end like this. Smell is awesome though. Gonna have to throw a few fans in the jar to get a little moisture into it. 61 grams of shake. Little kief. I have 5 plants finishing over the next 7-14 days so I’m gonna give the bags one more go but half as long, if that doesn’t work I’m buying a damn humidifier.

It is what it is man. I’ll find a way to dry that works. I honestly think just hanging them where I can check on them daily will be better than in bags where I’m afraid to open them and check. Idk. I’ll get it figured out.

I have been using method I read on this place. Chop at the base and leave all on the main stalk and hang to dry. A day for every 10rh in the drying room plus one. I had 30ish rh in my drying room last time so I hung plant for 4 days. After that into jars.
I don't get crazy awesome smell, but it definitely smells like weed.

I was drying basically doing this. The buds turned out amazing but just like you said the smell isn’t great. I guess that’s probably what I’ll have to deal since I don’t have space to set up a humidifier and dry correctly.

Don't feel too bad about it. I bought some weed twice last year and both times it didn't smell like anything. I'll bet what your growing smells way better than what you can find on the street

For me it’s more about the taste. The buds I’ve grown so far have smoked well and been way easier on the throat and lungs than the stuff I can get at the dispos. But it has that homegrown taste, basically the same way it smells.
