Outdoor Growtogrow.. Michigan Unlimited multi strain organic grow

Today rain
all day every minute of it not one lick of Sun shine  So I'll be turning the lights to all day...so at least they'll get some good light.
We're expecting a thunderstorm this afternoon so I'll probably unplug them for that...since the grow cages is a natural lightning attractor:hothot: The temp is 51°f an suppose to get to 65°f.
I may pull the clear tarp off and let the rain soak in. Rain water is so good for your plants. Lightening is said to help induce nitrogen uptake and I'm sure as well as other nutrients too.
I use a 440 gal rainwater collection system to water my plants with and make teas. I only use Rainwater unless there's no other choice. If that's the case.. Then I filter the city water and let it sit for a day or two before I use it. Only in the driest times of the year when I run out of water do to the lack of rain.:smokeout:

Sun all day.. Pulled the top tarp down and side wall's. Before the sun came up:cools:
Fed the girls a good helping of Alaska fish poop tea 5 gallons and made 2 gallons of foliar spray and sprayed them as well. Put a good helping of Raw dark brown sugar and two cups of Hot coffee with cream n suger:yoinks:. It's all I had to melt the raw down with at the time:coffee: it worked:stir::shrug::baked::pass:

Wonderful weather up here 72 degrees and hopefully the cold weather and nighttime frost is done, but I don't count on it. I had five photo plants in my small basement tent and I burned them somehow. Either nitrogen burn or two much light and heat. I took my two T5 lights out and moved two LED lights and they started showing clawed leaves and rapidly went downhill. Decided they would probably die so I put them in my outside grow, flushed them well and two days later they seem to be recovering.

I plan on starting various autos next week.

GrowtoGrow..do you grow any autoflowering plants in soil outside straight in the ground? If so, do you transplant them? I grew all my autoflowers in five gallon plastic and felt pots of 3, 7 and 11 gallons last year. Didn't like the 3 gallon felt pots, they seemed to have issues with drying out. Had to water twice a day once the plants started flowering. I'm on my own well so water is free.

Hey Doug.
Yup I've ran autos out side. Love it.
Man your going to run autos? your just in time. I would start my auto seeds by May 25 th to June 10th, to get the most SUN light by the 21st the summer solstice longest day of the year.
Ok you need a big pot (if) your going to run above ground.
20 to 30 gal fiber. With some diy done to it.
(If) right in the ground.
Dig out a spot 4'x4' x 18" down. And either put all new soil like Ocean Forest Fox Farms Happy Frog mixed 2/3 to 1/3mix of 50/50 vermiculite/perlite
You can add amendments to that as well, bone meal, blood meal, kelp meal, crust seashells, bat guano and so on. :coffee: :headbang:

If you wanted to use the native soil. Then I would amended with lots of everything compost cow manure horse manure whatever and some vermiculite maybe throw in a couple bags of ocean forest or Happy Frog and some old rotten wood pieces the kind of squishy. And you could make some good soil out of what that too.

Last year I had autos in tent for 30 days then moved outside as I started new ones. This year I was going to do partially raised bed but with Corona Virus lockdown there was no place to buy anything. Had a real nightmare trying to get composted manure and Fox Farms at my local store. They are located one county over where they had a big virus breakout.

I plan on putting my photos in the ground tomorrow. Didn't get them actually in the ground last year until end of June as the last week of no hard frost was last week of June. The one photo just made it last year before snow.

Rain all day, rain tomorrow, and a good chance of rain on Tuesday too.
I didn't run the lights all day today, just they're normal morning n night timer time. The sky had a good amout of light getting through most all day. But I will run the light's tomorrow and Tuesday:doh: I'll add the new far red leds too over 2 or 3 of the plants and start the tests.
I want to flip on the 1st. I was hoping for some more sun and warmer tepms to push these lady's up to the cage top.:coffee2::pass:

Mounted the new light over the triple threat Silver Haze. At about 30" above.
The t5 lights come on at 530am. So the silver haze she would lean to that light. I got the new light over the SH at 630 and turned on.
By the time I got things buttoned- up about 15 minutes the plant was already standing straight up towards the light.
