Grow Mediums Growing With Purpose Competition

Thanks for letting me participate when the time comes for standard pot users. It'll be nice. I really want that table and flood tray for the new grow room, I'm with a cheap set up to start because I don't have a good flood system in my set up. Heck is gladly take 3rd place. But the bales of growpito would be nice enough alone

The table is a joy. I'm only 27 but my back thanks me compared to using a bucket system. It's really quite versatile being able to add or remove pots. A 9 plant perpetual auto grow could be done easily.

Looking forward to this. We really appreciate the support of cultivators like yourself.

@Growpito_Aleks quick question.. I will be using an autopot. Normally I grow in soil or straight coco. In both mediums it's recommended to top feed for the first few weeks until the roots are established before using the bottom feeding reservoir. Would that be the same recommendation with the Sim mix, or would we want to use the res from day one?
thanks for asking that i was wondering the same
We recommend the same procedure and it is how I've done it for the current grow in our sub forum. I use about 20oz of water per transplant and then flood at 5 days.
i cant wait to see a flood table setup i may try growing this way in the future but my autopots tick all the boxes for ease

Here is our current demonstration grow on the 4x4 table with a 3x3 tray. 16 clones and 4 mothers to the right

That's what I like to hear, my shoulders will be so much better off if I'm not constantly having to do all this bending all the way over to do everything and lift. It would be nice. I'm just glad to be able to try something that is going to be better than what I've got now because soil isn't cutting it for me and I'd rather not be picking up the whole mesh net and the top of a plant constantly to check the roots and change a res. I'm a perpetual person and if I could SOG some meph sour crinkle (since they are rereleasing it this year it would be perfect to run a sog as half the table

You're speaking my language!

I think soil has its place but I like having clean rooms to grow in. My first grow in soil was a fungus gnat disaster. I'll pass. I run a 55 gallon reservoir with a 25 gallon container under and two pumps. Easier to maintain a large reservoir from ergonomics to pH stability.

I really settled on growpito because, unlike coco, I can fertigate every 3-5 days depending on growth and even longer if I adjust the flood height. We suggest watering every 3 days to maintain moisture in rhizosphere. Let it get too dry and this is where osmotic pressure can be affected plus nasty salt build up.

5 letters (or 4 depending on the spelling) MOULD! That and Powdery Mildew always began to spot at my plants fan leaves for some damned reason last spring summer and fall. More than ever before. It was Horrible. I was able to save it with biofungicide I could spray foliar and it kicked the PM's ass. But the pain was bending over and lifting the plant to get at those spots under the plant to check the foliage and doing an acrobatic act from Cirque de Soleil with a full fasemask on and hoping you don't spray it all over your hair and taking a shower anyway. Every 3 days isn't bad at all. Definitely easily doable and shouldn't be too difficult

That could be an issue with top feeding and the upper soil creating micro climates. That was usually the source of my problems with fungus gnats and I don't think I should have to buy a separate product to fix it. I know environmental swings can be a factor but that's just part of the picture. Glad you could save it but me back felt the pain for you lol.

Though with acrobatic skills like that - side hustle.

@Growpito_Aleks this is going to be a step up from our other tests just by having you here throughout for questions and pointers. this is going to be a blast and the blog is going to great to follow :bighug::smoking::vibe:
