Hello all ,
I am new to growing with soil but am giving it a try. I have Perlite, Peat moss, Vermiculite, Clay pellets, Coco and Soil all ready to be mixed. The question is : In what ratio should I mix it and should I use all of the mentioned products or omit one/some of them? Any help, suggestions or comments are appreciated. Thank You

Hi BB :)

I wouldn't mix them all together :)
I've just potted up and my mix is Canna coco plus with about 35-40% perlite mixed in. That's been a proven mix for my grows.

Don't forget if you go the coco route (rather than soil), you need to PH your feeds to hydro nute uptake range - which is between 5.5-6.2

That should get you going ^_^

nammys HorneyHow did you know? I have seen you on here for a while and never thought about it until now to ask,Maybe something is wrong with me because I,m 66 years old and still like to look at fine looking woman or girls,go figure.:crying:

The clay pellets are more for hydro growing so they won't be needed. Perlite, peat moss, and vermiculite are the basic ingredients of Pro Mix BX. Premier Horticulture, the manufacturer of Pro Mix, uses a ratio of 80% peat moss, 15% perlite, 5% vermiculite, as well as dolomite lime and a wetting agent. That is considered to be a semi soil less mix. Add in soil, or manure, worm castings or guano, and it becomes a soil mix. What kind of soil do you have?

I was just reading about super soil sounds like a good mix  i too am ready to get my feet wet with soil ,is this a good mix for us newbies ...he claim you just water it..and :poof:
