crazy-leds 495 Euro ~ 353 GBP with delivery to most European countries.. Pound breaks through €1.40 to hit seven year high. Experts believe the euro will fall further against the pound and dollar, while some say single currency will hit parity with greenback before year-end. Sterling broke through the psychologically important €1.40 barrier on Tuesday to €1.4113 - its strongest since November 2007. This means £100 buys an extra €22 compared with this time last year.[h=2][/h][h=1][/h]

We appreciate the cost of this new technology is much higher than our previous series and other lights on the market but it stands alone for what it can produce with such a discreet power consumption and noise level. With so many new companies putting low cost led lighting out we needed to make sure the Holographic series 1 had a unique point of sale that the others couldn't match. Once we have ramped up production and built a good wholesale network the cost of components and materials will come down. Also companies like Philips are working to produce more cost effective LED packages like the Luxeon Z.

We are already considering building a higher powered Holographic series unit the same optical, cooling and drive technology but with the Luxeon Z which is a step up from epistar and epiled chip encapsulations but a step down from the Rebel and Rebels ES in terms of efficiency but alot more cost effective per LED and per optic required. There are also other ideas in the mix for future Holographic series product lines but what we are focused on at the moment is releasing the US version, accessories and improving the product/application information available.

We see this as a new starting point for GN and we will eventually have several product lines in the Holographic series to suit everyone's requirements but as a small company this process will take time. That said, with the continued support of the AFN community and companies like Dutch passion we will definitely get there.

I have posted about this before, dunno where anymore, but having lived in New Jersey, my house had 220 V, technical current, this is the equivalent of 380 V in Europe. When I mentioned this at the office, my American colleagues looked at me like I was claiming weed grow on the far side of..........the moon......some such place........investigate ye Yankees sherlock.gif

Hey Corgy, 220 volts in the US is achieved by using 2 120 volt conductors where the frequency is 180 degrees out of phase with each other vs. Europe and a lot of other areas where a single conductor is rated at 230 volts.

That's right, and I know 220 V was available in every house in NJ from talking to other expats. Didn't prevent wasting 120 USD on an Radio Shack inverter before knowing this though........

I think 220 V is far more widespread in the US than people realize. Might take an electrician for a small fee to make it available, but it is likely there at the switchboard.

All my appliances running 220 V ex Europe and South America/Asia was running just fine for the 2 years in NJ.
