I have 2 Hs1 .. One was the first release as soon as they came on market.. Daniel emailed me to say they had a new lid for the version one case, which had better cooling .. When i got my 2ns Hs1 which was hs 1.1 it is slightly taller case sides than the original. So grow northern made an entire new case/housing unit ...

Hello Grow northern.
I purchased 4 x 6 spot LED units from you guys back in 2012, I think they are 3w LED's putting out 270w in total per unit.
1st off they were/are exceptional lights and I had awesome customer service. Now due to tech moving at a rate of knots and me being a bit of a tech geek is it worth enhancing/replacing this set up? Area 1.5m x 1.5m.

Great to hear from an old Modular series customer. There are quite a lot of differences between the 2 systems (you can take a look at all the features of the Telos series on the new website) but in general terms for efficiency:
The MS-0006 units that you already own are 180w power draw and typically around 1.2 μmols/joule output efficiency (depending on the build date) so each light outputs around 216 μmols. The Telos-0008 is a 240w power draw unit and just over the 1.9 μmols/joule and each unit outputs around 456 μmols.
At the most basic level, the Telos is much more efficient, the distribution of light is more even, the spectrum is better suited for taller denser canopies and it doesn't need any cooling fans, so less noisy! How you upgrade would be a question of what are you looking to achieve; are you looking to lowering the energy bills and get similar results to your current setup or are you looking to increase the light output?

This may seem a strange question after all this time regarding the HS1's but, with regard to the orientation of the diffusers (mine are 90x60's), can I ask which axis are they orientated in relation to the body of the HS1?
I'm just trying to optimise the best coverage in the new tent for the young plants and then move them under the Telos 0008 to finish.

Many thanks to Daniel @GrowNorthern for the 60x60 diffuser , it's now on my Crazy Led's HS1, just a simple pull and the whole thing is replaced, the wonders of magnetism! Also, I must thank Daniel for the advice as to how to hook my HS1's to the Telos 8.for my planned continual grow regime through one lighting controller.
