Indoor Grow No.2 - Hippy, Mephisto, Cobs and Good Vibes :)

I just checked and the freshly bent top on the SS is now really floppy and is kinda hanging beyond 90 degrees. Is this ok?

Sorry it's like one of my children is in hospital!
yeah, just leave her, she'll sort herself out, you'll be amazed

I nearly snapped my top of training it, 2 weeks later......

I have decided to upgrade my tent! :baby:

I was going to get a second tent but I think it's too much at the moment so I'm going to change the following:

Swap 90x90 tent for 120x120 tent. I need a bit more room anyway and a taller tent would be awesome.

Add two more plants to tent :bighug:

Add two more cobs to tent. I am planning on an additional 2 x citizen cobs, either another two 1212s or maybe something a bit beefier. So probably another 100w or maybe another 150w for a total of 300-350w of cobs in a 4x4 tent. Reckon that should be perfect as 200w is doing great in the 3x3.

One new space is pre-booked for a GG x OG and the other is crying out for an A vs T I think.

Happy days  :smoking: :hookah: :vibe:

nice upgrade m8 ... :eyebrows: i'm sure the AGOG will love the extra space ... u can always just build a new light for the new tent, and send me the 3x3 one :crying::kiss:

It's a good idea mate. Let me know if you're still interested in upgrading to cobs and I'll think about that. However, adding 2 extra cobs and a 150w driver would be very easy and cheap and I'd still have one cob per plant

She'll be fine after that bend, I wouldn't worry about that at all. I've snapped stems in half and they still bounced back in a few days. You could probably have done it even a bit lower as she will probably do quite a bit more growing. If you get too close to the light it will bleach the tops and fry the leaves relatively early. It doesn't necessarily hurt the yield that much, unless the leaves get completely fried early in flower.

This is a picture of a bud that got too close to my 180W LED. I believe it was around 25-30 cm away.

Yeah I realised straight away I should have done it lower down mate. Trouble is the stem is like a tree trunk below the next node so I'm not sure I'd want to bend that as my first attempt at super cropping! We'll see how she goes now

Is bleaching specific to blurple led as I don't recall seeing it happen under cobs?

If you massage it for a while until it's soft it should bend but yeah it's more likely to break lower down.

Good question, I'm not quite sure. I imagine any light intense enough would cause bleaching at some point but the distance could vary a lot.

I've never got bleached bud...I supercrop.

Bleaching can happen with any intense light. Cobs...most likely easier. If you pay attention to rhe stress signs its easily avoidable. Serrated leaf edges curling up, and/or twisting.
Those symptoms are not only indicative to light stress but, if all else is good, there's a good chance.
I have yet to have a stress free plant, closer than 22" from cobs. And mine are the older model.
