New Grower Grow Journal, 1x Short Rider & 1x Skunk Mass, 1st grow in 4 yrs

And here you have the youth, 2 short riders, with nearly 1 month old.
A big difference between the 2. It was already noticeable from the way they sprouted, that's why I placed the quickest to sprout in the bigger container.

They already showed sex (despite their feminised, but it is always good to know that I'm able to identify their sex if I ever ove on to regular seeds):

And the whole family:

Can't wait to chop the little dwarf to realize the quantity of her yield!

Take care everyone!

Hi there folks. I haven't been able to see my plants during the day, as I've been leaving early and when I come back home it's already dark. But today, I encountered some really yellow fan leaves of my cheesy auto and I guess she's struggling with some deficiency, but I don't know what. Here are some photos that I took today in broad daylight:

I could really use some piece of advice right now. She's right in the middle of the flowering process and I think this might have an effect on the yield.

Thanks.

Hello people!

Just wanted to share a few more pics from today early
The cheesy is getting ready, but I don't see any fan leaves turning yellow. I think I'll give her plain water again tomorrow, next Sunday and then next Wednesday. If I see any signs I will chop her. If not, I'll give her one more week, but I think she's nearly good to go!

The Cheesy is still in the same situation. This is either a pH problem, which I will be evaluating tomorrow, or an overwatering problem from the rainy weeks we had some weeks ago.

But good news, one of the short rider's is going trough the roof. She's growing bigger each day and the side branches are very strong. The other one hasn't grown so tall and the top leaves show a yellow glow on the top, but it's to early to read it.

Hello everyone!!

Remember my Little Dwarf? She had a big concentration of bud in the main stem, a really big cola!!

Yesterday, I was preparing to leave but took time to check my babies in broad daylight.
While I was inspecting her, I move a few leafs and side branches out of the way and focused on the big cola. There it was! A brown spot that wasn't noticeable at first sight, as it was developing from the inside out.
I already had a few doubts, as I posted in another thread in this forum, given the conditions: outdoors in a subtropical climate.

I panicked and thought that the only solution would be forcing her end. Well, I still think it was the only option, was I wouldn't be able to remove only that part without stressing her out, and then I would be worrying if it would still spread.
Here is the result:

And here is that ugly, filthy, sneaky mold.

So, all down to pieces, this is the result:

In the top left: molded buds and material;
In the bottom left: stuff I'm saving to try to make butter.
The rest: healthy buds, at least I hope so. Some of them were really near the molded ones, but I placed those on the left and separated them. I'm paperbag-drying, so I isolated the healthy ones from the ones that could have mold.

Right now, their in their first 24hrs, and were hung inside a big plastic box, which I closed and placed in an closet that we don't use. I don't own an hygrometer so I can't really tell the humidity, but right now HR outside is around 60%. Let's see how it goes, I really want everything to go well and throw them on airtight jars to get a fine taste. I really enjoy their smell and consider that an essential element of an herb.

Please tell me what do you think.
Thanks.

Take care,

Sorry about the mold, but you caught it early and it looks like you still made out ok, good work. You may want to remove some more of the leaves to speed the drying up. I have some Short Riders going at the moment as well, they really seem to like the LED I have them under. Check out my grow in my sig if you want.
Grow well, be happy.

Hey @NugNubs,

I think I screwed everything up.. ended up with moldy buds everywhere.. it seems not even one will make it..
Started a thread to see if anyone gives any advice, but I think this batch is doomed.. such a shame.. :(

Thanks for the feedback anyway.

Take care.

Sorry to hear that tronik . Maybe once the short rider is flowering bring it inside and controll the RH. Even if its just under 6 23 watt 2700k cfls and a small fan should help mitagate that bud rot. I cant tell you how many outdoor plants i lost at the end from mold. Best of luck.

Hello everyone!!!

So what I yielded from my little dwarf was put away. It was a hard decision but I took a lesson from it.

I cropped my cheesy yesterday evening. The buds were evenly distributed along the several branches on her, so getting mold from the flowering stage wasn't a problem, unlike with my little dwarf, that had a huge cola that was ideal for mold development. Anyway the weather is a bit colder now and humidity drops with the temp.

So here's she right before the trimming:

And after the trimming:

And then, each branch, one by one:

All the bud is now cut in small chunks and distributed through several paper bags, which are hung on a drying net inside a closet. I'm keeping the closet door open and a dehumidifier in the room, with the door shut. My hygrometer gives me 62%, which is a good value to slow dry the bud. She'll probably be there for 7/8 days, but I'll check regularly inside each paper bag for early molds signs detection.
