Harvest & Curing Grove Bags Test Thread

For some reason I thought it was supposed to be on the drier side. I guess it’s the opposite? Lol

And that’s into the grove bags at 11-12%?
Yes. I still do a jar/hygrometer test but the last couple of times I was right on the money at 62% RH with a 11.6 on the meter. Like St.Tom says do some tests on a known bud with the desired moisture content.

hey so i bought the meter shown below on amazon, just to make sure i'm supposed to test using the 'D' option?
Just for some feedback on the product itself I put about 1oz in a normal bell jar with a 1 oz boveda pack and another 1oz in a 1/4 pound grove bag and the result was completely different. Both content is from a single plant, an Auto WW from Seedsman.
The one in the jar had the same problem i always have, i.e. it lost all the smell, but the one in the grove bag smells really nice an fruity an spicy after finally opening it up after 2.5 weeks or so. I'm not sure if burping the jars let out the smell or the bovedas but that was my result.
The hydgrometer showed the RH to be steady in both with the jar being 62% while in the Grove Bag it was 58%, i did not heat seal.

@dereliktdrmz We normally recommend using the least dense setting when using a wood moisture meter. Setting D should work fine.

Put the jar nugs in the bags and a good deal of the smell should come back.

Hey, I've recently harvested my second grow since acquiring some Grove Bags. I dry at around 16-18 degrees C, a consistent 50%RH in a dark room with plenty of airflow. It took around 9 days to reach approximately 11-12% MC (gauged using a wood moisture meter on lowest density setting available) across all buds (did my best to be consistent with bud sizes to help this). After which time I placed them all into Grove Bags with generous room left vacant inside. The RH inside the bags went up to around 60%RH and stayed there consistently, which was impressive. However, after leaving the buds to cure in the bags for 3 weeks, upon opening them they still had the distinct remnants of the chlorophyll smell, which definitely masked any of the full and enjoyable weed scent that I was hoping for and am used to.
Given that I'm quickly approaching the curing phase with my most recent grow (currently around 6-7 days left of drying), are there any recommendations anyone can offer to avoid the above happening again? Should I consider burping the bags at all? Although my understanding is that that shouldn't be necessary.
The bags were always stored in a dark room at ~17 degrees C and maintained ~60%RH.

Many thanks in advance!

That has not been my experience. I use a hygrometer in each bag and adjust the buds moisture to 58-65 RH as soon as it is stable I heat seal the bags and do not open for a minimum 3 weeks but usually 6 or more weeks. I am in no hurry.
