New Grower grams per watt LED

nah mate i got 2 of them : )

I agree, GPW is meaning-less especially since it doesn't include other power consumption..... It's a trumpist tool in marketing blurp of course..... Which is why its around....so the light purveyors can "enlighten" unknowing minds in a simple manipulative way that comes across in an apparent easily understood equation.......makes it easier to separate you and your wonga....

WPG on the other hand, how many total watts did you use to grow 1 g of bud, fans, pumps, any chillers/coolers, any heaters, any dehumidifiers/humidifiwrs, lights, monitoring, etc, etc...... Add more light for higher yield, count on higher power consumption to manage that heat..... Aye, light = heat, never forget..... Every single Watt of "light" is transformed into heat in your grow space..... Depending on ambient conditions and time of year that can be wanted or unwanted.....

You Scottish aswell mate? just going from the "aye." its usually a clear sign lol

burple Chinese light average .5 to .7 gpw. On a rare occassion someone will hit 1 gpw with them but thats with exceptional genetics and great skill. The same goes for HPS.

And if your new, forget GPW, its really meaningless and you need to concentrate on growing skills. You have to learn to drive before you can go racing.........

I did an auto SoG with 5 different strains this winter with 100X3w epistar leds and despite errors I still managed .9gpw ....no extra stuff to run but 2 small fans. I could easily see this space exceeding 1gpw if I can ever do an error free grow...lol

Aye mate is it true that its got to be Scottish or its crap.........:smokeit:
dunno about that mate, the guys round here dry it, shake off most of the thc, damp it again, then sell it. i dont even smoke weed. i just like to take the edge off but i loved growing it the first/last time.some will be swapped for pollen/black ect. the rest im proud to say is going to medical use. to be made into skin creams etc.

Tangs auto ultimate did it [emoji14] but im unsure on the exact wattage of his lights he was using...

Yeah but those GrowNorthern Holographic led's are awesome. One 75w one can replace a 250hps if I read correctly. But I cant seem to find one to buy anywhere.

what metric we use really will depend on what information we want. GPW can be used if your looking to see if your new lights improved your grow. The data is only useful if you grew the exact same strain at least once before under the same grow conditions, same length of time, except the light. g/(kw x cost per kw), tells you what it cost you per gram for the electricity used. There is a formula for whatever data you seek

The yardstick I like to use, and the only one that truly makes sense me, except for newcoming equipment cases as you say, is.....

Total Wattage(kW) X Total Time(Hours) /Yield(g) = kWH/g

I've got a consumption meter (Kill-a-watt I believe some folks call 'em) on all 3 tents, and never managed a meaningful reading.... Lol..... After a grow has started there is always some new thingy being added, I run out of plug points and have to borrow from elsewhere, plants are swapped between tents, etc etc.... Guess its not all that important to me after all, haha.....but its nice to be able to see current total load(s), it'll flag any malarkey going on.......just
