Hello everyone,

New grower here, along with being a new member on this site.

Started germinating my Gorilla Glue Auto seeds by Cropking today.
Just followed their instructions for the germination process.
I'll be growing them in a;
4x4 tent
6in AC infinity fan and controller
6in terrabloom carbon filter
California Light Works Extreme LED 500 light
5 gal pots

Using Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil with Happy Frog and some added perlite.
I also have the Fox Farm Dirty Dozen nutes (probably wont even use most of those this grow)

This is my first time growing anything so any advice is welcomed.
I wanted to create this thread to share my progress, and hopefully learn a thing or two from you experienced folks.

Feel free to chime in about anything!

What kind of soil do you guys use?

Hi Pal:toke: and welcome to AFN:welcome:

That's looking a nice set up,,,so the seeds,,i would suggest the brown tap isn't a great sign, some soak seeds in gemination sauces and they sometimes have a brown appearance but i guessing you didn't do that ,,you mentioned following crop king germination method without describing it ..but i guess again its damp paper towel in a plastic bag sat on top of a router for warmth ? that works for me anyways,,the one that's sprouted i would put her to bed in her final home  keep warm and moist you should be off to the races ,,give the others a couple days if no luck ,,complain like fck and look at your germ method ,,one or the other is off

My goal was to have about 5 plants growing, but I don't think I'll even get 3-4 from this batch of seeds, so I went and ordered 5 more autos from CropKing. This time I went with their Early Miss strain. Which is a mix of Big Bud, and White Widow.
So I'll have two different autos growing now, Gorrila cake, and Early Miss.

P.S.
Cropking is giving away 5 seeds of their choice with any purchase for Cyber Monday Coupon is (5free)

The first batch they gave me some femi's, probably will again with this second order. So i guess my second grow will be some Femis

EDIT: :)
I decided to give Cropking a call..
Didnt have much faith in the other three.
They will be sending out more of the gorilla cake. It was a very easy process.
So hopefully with 15 seeds I can at least get 5 in pots :pop:

Hey hairyman! Thanks for the comment and the welcoming.

I did not soak the seeds in any sauces, just bottled spring water.
Right, Cropking directions are to drop seeds in a cup of water for 14-18hrs, then to transfer on a plate and have the seeds wrapped in a paper towel.. burrito style. they say to plant after taproot hits 1/2 inch long(which is why they're not in soil yet). they say to give the seeds 2-7 days before they honor their 80% success guarantee.

I'll get that one in soil first thing tomorrow.
I had the seeds germinating in my tent hoping I could plant all at the same time, I guess I'll just find another area to germinate the others.

EDIT: They mention to not cover it, and they dont mention anything about a heat source.
They stayed in my tent. Temp on average was 70-75F

That's great news,, seed stockers are always good on customer service also,,,,the germ method you mentioned was omitting warmth  and moisture i take its a damp burrito blanket

They actually just sent me an email with germ instructions (probably from the early miss purchase)

"DO NOT: Cover plate with another plate, use a zip lock bag, put in a closet or drawer as this traps in cold air and does not allow seeds to breathe.
DO NOT: Use peat pellets, heating pads, domes or rock wool as our breeders and our company tests our seeds daily using the above method."
(CropKing)

They also mention: "EMERGENCY GERMINATION: If your seeds fail to germinate, it is most likely that they didn't get enough water. As a last effort, drop them into a cup of distilled water and leave them there until you notice a tap root appearing. When it appears, start over with the paper towel method until the tap root is 1/2 inch long."

I have had the paper towel dry out on me, since work likes to keep me away from them.
So, that could be the issue. I'm going to try to drop the three that have not developed a tap yet.

Do you guys normally see a tap before day 4?
