I'm wary of Amazon, not because they are great, but because I feel like they know so much and build serious customer profiles. Plus I think they are too entwined with law enforcement to trust any shred of privacy with them. This hobby is becoming more legal by the day but caution is always good practice.

I ordered my soil from them and now my 'feed' and targeted ads/suggested products are aggressively cannabis focused. Exactly what I don't need.

I'm a bit paranoid about the connections tech have to us and how much they know. But every time I try to cut out one I realize that my phone, computer and probably tv are listening 24/7 even with the options turned off. I still don't like it and try to limit it, but I've given up on worrying about it. Put some tape over the cameras and hope for the best

Yeah, I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. So many options and being new at this, plus being unemployed makes bigger purchases more of a consideration, f’n COVID. Plus I’m a chef and the hospitality industry got crushed and won’t really be back for a good 6 months.

Burner smart phone, paid cash, prepaid cash credit/gift cards, VPN, secure email. About all ya can do these days.

Bitcoin requires too much authentication these days. Ugh. Tried that first. Wallets are easy. Buying btc off exchanges.....nightmare.

I’m no fan of Monsanto, Bayer or any other greedy corporations enriching themselves at the expense of society. However from my research the Monsanto Corp. does not actually own Gavita. Apparently Hawthorne Group took a 75% stake in Gavita. Hawthorne group has marketing rights to Roundup and that is why people are saying Monsanto owns Gavita. With that being said I purchased my light today and it is not a Gavita, I decided that since I’m still pretty inexperienced and struggling with the basics I don’t need to spend that kind of money on a light right now. Technology is developing very fast in this field and in a year or two when I have my shit together I will go high end then.
