GONNA CRY!! Found pest / bugs during late flower!!!

X no need to disinfect the room, it's all happening in the soil. neem work's but can change the taste of your canna. any organic product that you add to your regular feeding is the easy way to apply.:grin:mosqutio dunk's also work , and are organic, but the prep is a hassle. a powder or liquid work's right away. don't stress you already have a good crop:Sharing One:you just have a little root pruning being done by the larvae:grin::tiphat:
hey bro :) :Sharing One: what is it you don't like about the mosquito dunks? I use a 1/4 of dunk usually to 2 to 3 gal pots and just crumble them up with my fingers into the soil while prepping the pots.... Also forgot to mention the dunks In the above post.... Unfortunately I get nervous every time I get a new bag of medium they may be harboring in there waiting to cause havoc...

Appreciate the advice, thanks! Will do my best :)

Not sure if it's been mentioned allready but do not spray ANYTHING on flowering buds that are near harvest at this point... You will muck things up :) best bet is the vinegar in dishsoap in a plate some yellow stickies and if possible cut a few in 1/4's and stake them near the soil
also next run try and tidy things up if they are messy, always clean dead plant material away never let leaves sit in the soil keep the top of your pots clean, and get rid of whatever medium you were using if you have any left and start fresh... I'm also a huge fan of sm-90 and use 1 to 2ml per gal every watering... Freaking HATE GNATS, was the straw that broke the camels back and stopped me growing for a bit to get things straightened up....
:karma Cloud:

Update: NO flying insects in the box this evening. A good bunch of them however were found stuck to the yellow sticky tapes. A few were found in the bowl of vinegar which made the box stink. Soil is very dry, will have to water tomorrow even if Gnat Off (the bacteria thingy) doesn't arrive on time.

If I do not see any flying / alive insects tomorrow, do you guys still think I should use the Gnat Off?

Second Question: Should I use Gnat Off from time to time during my next grow (precaution)?

..hey bud-- sticky traps will not solve the problem- reproduction is in the soil, and that's where you hammer them!... vinegar-- ditto; no peroxide!! that'll f' your soil herd (microbes) up totally :slaps:... another product with identical active ingredients to Gnat-trol are mosquito dunks, used for ponds; you can get them in a granular form too, besides the pucks, and for far cheaper,... local stores/garden centers/pet stores likely will have them (call around).... I use the granular one, otherwise you have the break the pucks up into bits; i like to get the bacteria started fast by mixing up a gallon of non-chlorinated water with 1T molasses or brown sugar and a dash of plant nutes, then add the dunk stuff, and let it sit for a day, then water normally,... it'll take a few days, but once ingested they're doomed!.... good! look up a pic of soil gnats, and scope one of them out with the mag'....ID is easy that way,...

I guess you get these in hydro also, because I have them, and I'm using growstones. The only thing organic I think would be the original rapid rooters with the transplant.
I have been keeping them under control using the hanging fly traps (pita.. always getting stuck on to you, and they don't seem to work good unless they are close), so I guess they can breed in recycled glass also.

Growstones makes a product called Gnatnix. used as a top dressing. Must work similar to DE. I will probably give it a try my next grow.

Use it straight away.. First feeding anyway.. More as a precautionary measure.. If their eggs are already in the soil then using it at the start of the grow will stop any of them even getting to the surface..

Hey Yoda.. Gnat off is a liquid bactericide that goes into feed water... There's no spraying it on bud... Buddy.

Hey Kush T. Problem solved I believed. Did like you recommended with the gnat off.
Yellow stick stuff still there but haven't seen anything flying around since Thursdays and back to life :tiphat:

I had fungus gnats. I used gnatrol for a few feedings along with the sticky paper bug problem resolved fairly quick

i.ve used a diluted hydrogen peroxide for them 1-2 tbsp / 1c water and spray the top of the soil. I also use this for damping off.

When growing in coco I think there are (fungus gnats) in the medium from the start sometimes. If you over water they flourish. I use sticky yellow traps and set them facing up on the top of the grow pots. Also I use Diatomaceous earth. Its a fine white powder that I apply on top of the soil with a spoon and when they get in it kills them . I got it at the local hardware store The gnats are very tricky they will also get in the bottom of your pots in the drain holes . Hydrogen peroxide works well also but I am always worried about using it multiple times.
