Hey all, anyone using Promix MP?
I completed my first harvest using organic soil. Now I'm going to try PRO-MIX MP ORGANIK Mycorrhizae. It is soilless and has nothing in it that would stunt my grow. It includes the following:
60-70% Canadian sphagnum peat moss
Coir (horticultural grade) - improves structure and water distribution
Perlite (horticultural grade) - enhances drainage and aeration
Mycorrhizae PTB299 - (glomus intraradices) for enhanced nutrient and water uptake, stress resistance and overall root and plant health
OMRI listed
Will not burn seedlings
I am going to sow 4 auto seeds and It seem growing in Promix MP is a blank canvas pretty much. Meaning I'm responsible for adding nutrients to the Pro-mix. I also see i would need to keep a pH of 5.8 feeding/watering. I grabbed some Dr. Earths Premium Gold® All Purpose Fertilizer, it has:
NUTRIENT CONTENT:
Total Nitrogen (N)…………………………….4%
…..4% Water Insoluble Nitrogen
Available Phosphate (P2O5)….4%
Soluble Potash (K2O)……………………4%
Calcium (Ca)………………………………………….4%
Sulfur (S)………………………………………………..1.7%
Magnesium (Mg)……………………………0.2%
Iron (Fe)……………………………………………….0.05%
Manganese (Mn)…………………….0.002%
The plan is to use the Pro-Mix MP in 3 gallon fabric pots. Going to mix in Dr. Earths Premium Gold® All Purpose Fertilizer 4-4-4, per instructions, a few tablespoons per gallon of medium. I was also going to throw in some Dr. Earths Flower Girl® Bud & Bloom Booster, mix everything up, put it in the pots and water the pots until run off. Then let the pots sit for 5 days. Then mix up the top portion, make it damp, sow the seeds. Take it from there. I'd also be using "Recharge".
The other plan was the same as above, but NOT using Flower Girl, and using "Flower Fuel" instead which is a high potent synthetic. I like the flower fuel because its pretty clean and you don't need to use a lot of it, so flower/buds don't get a nutrient taste or hinders the quality/smoothness of the smoke. My first harvest i yielded 1lb by 2 plants by using it. I like those results and the quality it produced and like to see the same or better for my second grow in Pro-Mix.
What are the differences between watering soil and watering Pro-Mix? Does Pro-Mix drain better but retains moisture longer? Do you water less frequently? Do you fully soak it until run-off? Thanks!
