GoAuto and roark's fungi extravaganza "Work area" Hard hat's please!

Back in the good ol' daze ('03/04?) I used to be able to pick up a punnet or two from my local headshop of a Friday on my way home. Had a BIG Summer of Love.

Haven't shroomed for at least 6 years, but think about it occasionally. It'd be good to trip some things out. I've been tempted by getting a quick and easy kit, or trying to cultivate some Astoria Ossips outside.

At first I thought I was going to get a kit too! But instead I did some research and just built what I needed instead! Most of the "starter" kits suck. Some are OK but there's no "special" things, you can make a fruiting chamber easily with supplies found pretty much anywhere (perlite, clear container with lid, hydro/temp meter, a place off the floor in sunlight, is basically all you need for fruiting. Incubation isn't too tough either, and requires no special setups. Just place in a dark but warm place while incubating.

The only other thing kits might come with are premade substrate jars. These can be good for someone who is noobish such as myself. Some are decent jars, I bought my jars premade. It's more expensive this way but it helped get my feet wet. Otherwise, try not going with a kit. Just my $.02 at least :)

Given where you live bubble.....I'd say no. Maybe if you went deep below the frost zone. I buried mine and didn't get nothing.

I have pins in 4/24 f my jars. Just can't keep the humidity up. What a bunch of shit! Oh well. I have plenty going on to not be messing with fruit too. Some day, again!

Finally got some fruit action in a 6 quart tub, Temps have come down and was able to keep the fruit chamber down to 73*.
