GoAuto and roark's fungi extravaganza "Work area" Hard hat's please!

I'm interested to see how the tub runs go. I never could get that to work. Some things I've noticed about the bags though . . . They will self inflate (so to speak) when they get ready to go from pinning to fruiting. That's the Co2. A fan is absolutely essential. The bags will air all the way up, like a balloon and growth seems to slow down. I realized I had my fan on low so I switched it to high last night. This morning I had a fruit the size of my pinky finger. So that extra air movement is necessary. The one bag that isn't sealed is growing slow but steady. I'm worried about the RH with it. I'll pull the bags down again tonight and get ya'll some more pics.

Wait, so you put the casing on after?

Didn't we use to have a chat line in here?

Yup, as soon as The sub is colonized it gets a 1/4 inch layer of 50/50+ mix.....I used coco + oyster shells + hydrated lime + vermiculite + water......I used coco the recipe called for SPHAGNUM PEAT MOSS.... So I'll see, here's a link. Edit just talked with MZ he said he'd wait 5 more days so gonna do so then case..

I'm following that tek too. Well mostly. Need to make up the tubs still. But I have some time til the spawn is ready for transfer.
Go, those look great by the way!

Thanks roark, talking to MZ he say's in 9 days I should have a solid block of myco and I don't so I'm picking his brain on that....

I always like reading these shrommie threads.. that looks hard as hell to make auto. In My region south eastern US we get the jumbo shroom from cow pastures and horse pastures. I think the ones you guys play with would be the one from Washington, origin and it grows on dead wood? The one we used to pick were very large 13 inches purple ring, but are on the weak side. The only way we could take them was to boil them unless you waned to get a tape worm or liver fluke. I remember having large trash bags of these from going from pasture to pasture all day just to have a fun weekend! We mostly made sweet tea or cool aid boiling 15 to 25 mushrooms at once.. huh never again! next time i see some wild ones ill try to get some pics of them in nature but i have to watch out of bulls and land owners! :peace: there big I can see them from the road wile driving after a good rain..

I also ruined about a lb once because I froze them and they didn't work.

Important update: you must poke holes in your foil cover and micro pore tape them up.... or your sub colonization will be slow as slow..

Got the tape just for that reason. Thank you sir.
