New Grower Getting started on my first indoor grow!

How much dolomite lime should I mix per gallon (or cu. ft.) to help buffer the pH of my next batch of fox farm ocean forest? Any help is appreciated as always :toke:

looking good impressed for you first grow i think it will be a merry xmas !
1-2 tablespoons per gallon

I've been in the exact situation as you, Roller. My pH was down below 5 for a couple of weeks before I knew what was going on (bad meter), so at least you have a handle on the problem. Trust me when I say that the bud will still be a very nice smoke.

As for the lime, I mixed one tablespoon per gallon of FFOF this grow and my pH was a lot more stable.

Sorry to hear about all the frustration Roller. They're still lookin real good though. You're gonna have more meds than you know what to do with!

yeah relax, they look really nice for your first grow. Take a breath! Come back and write when you do crazy nut burn and or water with to high/low ph to kill all you plants :P

This looks like nothing.

Well it seems that the Magic Dragon F2's still need a bit more taming before they are unleashed :twist:. So the new game plan is I will be starting some Purple JEMs and Duurty Dragons under the new T5 in about a week or so. Gonna be a colorfest! (Yea i just made up that word colorfest, so what? :coffe:).

Nice grow mate. Your babies are about the same age as mine and they both look very similar kind of plants. Mine aren't really any bigger than yours, I have 2 of them that are fully in flower, another 6 just starting flower and another 7 that probably won't start until next week :/ If I can give you any advise it would be don't stress. They look really healthy, those buds will double in size, maybe even triple, in just over a week. You're just starting to get to the part where they'll really take off and start filling out. This is where most people get impatient and make school boy errors over nuting, flushing and drowning what would be otherwise fine plants.

I'm sure you'll be fine. G'luck with the rest of the grow. Good job so far.

Everything looks delicious! Bet you're looking forward to harvest time :toke:

Day 50 Update!

Sorry for not updating my thread as much as I intend I have been crazy busy lately. 4 of my girls are doing much better but the other two are probably going to have low yeilds due to my pH issues, oh well. As far as my pH goes, I did two flushes with the baking soda and water solution (pH 7.5) and top dressed about two weeks ago with some dolomite lime. Here is what my run-off readings were two days ago.

Plant 1- 5.9
Plant 2- 6.4
Plant 3- 5.8
Plant 4- 6.6
Plant 5- 6.8
Plant 6- 6.6

They aren't perfect but they are getting better. I am aiming for a soil pH of 6.6-6.8 with a slight swing every now and then to adust for the uptake of different nutes. I think most of this grow has mainly been me practicing and learning how to manage my pH lol.
I just opened up a new bag of FFOF that I plan to grow some Purple JEMS in and I tested the run-off, it's pH out of the bag was 5.8 so I mixed in some dolomite lime 2 days ago. How long should it take to raise the pH? My buddy says 2 weeks, but he has fed me a lot of BS before . I think my FFOF is so acidic because there is now a rumored east coast Fox Farm manufacturer and I heard they are using pine bark (which is acidic) opposed to the hardwood bark the guys on the west coast are using in the original mix. I do not know if there is any validity in that statement though, I just overheard it while shooting the breeze at my local hydro shop.
Anyways on with the pics, one of my girls is looking awesome (to me anyways lol) so I took most of them of her, check the frostyness.
