Morning kittens, old dude (60), haven't grown or smoked in 25 years due to career path with lots of testing. Retired and trying 1st auto grow. 2x4x5 tent, 2x marshydro ts600's. Local shop had 00seeds so I started there. bought 2 3 seed packs. 2 jack herer and 2 Sweet Soma going into flower now. Let's just say I'm not impressed with their genetics or viability. 2 of seeds no evidence of germinating at all. Figured I'd try photos and cloning to start perpetual grow after the autos finished. Single seeds of 4 strains, not one of them popped so I'm at a 40% germination rate which is unacceptable. local shop just shrugs and says no guarantees. Of the 4 that popped growth has been a little lackluster, not much height (10 inches) stalks are nice and thick, branching responded well to LST, been keeping ph levels within proscribed parameters as I've found online (5.8 to 6.5). Has anyone else tried 00 seeds, think they are out of Spain with us distribution. After I get these done and moved into new place will have to southern beans online cause I have no confidence in this company.

Hey bud sorry to hear that but if you can lmk some more info I can try to help out things like are you in soil coco? wat have you been phing ur water to? Ppm of feed light cycle temp and humidity light weather led of hps ect ect also photos imho are only worth while in the hot months when it's difficult to keep a steady temp/humidity. Anyways lmk wat you can and we will get you setup bud no problem.

OO seeds has a good rep. The problem with buying from a growshop is you have no idea of how old the seeds are when you get them. Buy from an online seedbank and even then you need to be careful who you deal with. Linda Seeds, Mephisto ( breeder direct ), The Vault, Dutch Passion are all good seedbanks/breeders. Also here on AFN, we have several top notch breeders who can hook you up with great auto genetics.

As to your plants, how old are they? What size pots? what medium are the growing in? Organic or nutrient fed? What lighting? Temp and RH in your tent? Pics would help too.

I have. Was the first auto I ran. Was ready to go back to growing photos only after the poor quality. Never threw weed out before. Exactly what autos were known for. Poor bud formation, and non existent thc levels.
On a recommendation, I gave Mephisto a shot. Saved autos for me. Have run a mix of autos and photos now for 4 years, you can't tell the difference between the strength, and flavor & smell are on point.
Will never soak another seed from that breeder.

My friends always ask me if I will start their seeds. I cannot even remember the last time I had one, not pop. I do a 24hr soak in the dark, then into a damp. paper towel baggie and tinfoil. No matter how you do it it seems the wetter they are the more likely they will rot and not sprout.

welcome brov. great to know another is getting back in. that was me 4 months ago.

Medium is 1/3 happy frog, 1/3 vermiculite/perlite,1/3 composte. 3 gal buckets with plenty of holes for drainage, water ph at 5.8 to 6.5 (seeds in ph 6.0 for 24 hrs then same on paper towels in baggies. Placed on top of lights constant 85). Temp swings under lights 73 to 84 (ac vented to light trap intake box...live in Fla. so I know how to keep em cool). Humidity 40 to 55 % during veg. 35 to 45% now in flower. Lights are LED..neighbor gave me 3 random bag seeds she had laying lose in a drawer to test after the 4 photo no shows..all 3 sprouted so my methodology is working, just not for the batch I spent money on.

Yes, just like I did, shot glasses, 6.0 ph water, back of closet in dark. 24 hrs. Baggies n paper towels dampened not soaking....3 random bag seeds from drawer sprouted as a test after these 4 photo no shows...only conclusion I can come up with is very bad luck on what I was given at the shop.

Now dont get me wrong, not giving up autos or photos. Just a rant about dealing with a local shop owner not worried about losing customer base. If he thinks I'll be piping in to buy supplies he's mistaken as its too easy to order online. And I'll be holding off till I get moved over to new living spaces in a month or 2.
