Hi I have just had a seed in cup of water for 24hrs and has now gone very dark in colour is this normal? First time doing water germination (seed is now in paper tissue)

Cant say i noticed the colour change before but im sure its nothing to worry about.
Just keep it moist not wet, and warm anf it should germ just fine.

i never bother with the water i just pop it in a root riot or damp tissue the colour change may be temp changes it should sink soon if not use a paper towel and good look my friend

If the seed sunk after soak its full of water and now its ready to plant. Thats what I do.Color shouldn't be a problem unless its mold.

I find the water to get very stagnant after 24hrs so I usually take it out, place it in a towel in a ziplock on a windowsill and wait for a tail to appear then pop it in some dirt

Root riots or nothing for me. Tried a few ways and nothing comes close to them.
Fastest, easiest, safest and most effective way IMO.

I let mine soak for 24 to 36h if it has not sunk push it if it sinks its ready for the paper towel or I normally let it sit at the bottom of the water until the taproom comes out. Happy growing bud

Have you ever tried coco pellets/plugs? I was testing some coco plugs and the seeds popped pretty damn fast.

So this is the seed now after a night in tissue has the smallest bit of root out, should I go ahead and pot this now?
