I think simple is best especially if your semi blind like me. We seeds stick to my fingers and I end up dropping them. I think the big key to seed starting is warmth (80 to 90 F works great). Give me some Jiffy pucks and a nice warm place to leave them like on top off a heating pad turned on low and in a pyrex dish covered or uncovered.

I totally agree. But I have never had a seed sink that didn't germ. I have had them float and germ. I have also had them crack while soaking in 24 hours. It was fine.

If you really want to learn as much as you can from your first grow. What I would suggest is a...... Clear party cup with the jiffy seed starting mix. you can see the moisture and watch the roots grow. Transplant at a week and a half. Any pot will due.

Not so much into learning (dont get me wrong, Ive done ALOT of research here and other places)as I just want to get it right. I am only growing one plant, and only have four beans (3-AKR/1 freebie) coming. Dont want to screw it up.

Yeah, very excited about them!!! Cant wait to see what they do in a 2 gallon airpot! Im sure you can tell my nervous nature about getting the germ correct.

i puck it everytime myself, wet it, plant it and put it in its final resting place and watch the grass grow.

Maybe we need a pole to find out whether there are more puckers than soakers. Somehow that sounds dirty and I don't even know why.

I'll be taking fem seeds: Take a puck. Wet it. Insert seed. Stick in a bowl with a top, something along those lines, around 80-90f if possible. After a few days and plant at its final resting place? I think I got it. I've been spoiled and worked off of clones (photo) for a few grows, pretty noobish here ;)

Thanks for the insight! :D

EDIT: I have some pellets that "expand instantly!", lol, are these something similar to needs? For some reason I think I remember someone saying bad stuff about pellets and germinating? I unno?

Second EDIT: I found most of my answers via another post, did not see it within the search function. Curious on the pellets I have, other than that I am good. Great group of valuable info!

my pucks may be your pellets but sound about the same i'd use em. i use 70-80 for germ temps.

All us old fucks just hang around here so all the young whipper snappers can tell us what we are doing wrong. The geezers like me just end up getting taught by the kids just out of high school. And who says they don't learn anything at high school. It looks to me they all graduated with honors. All us old guys gotta do is open our minds and let the info flow in. Just like opening your fly and pulling it out before we take a piss.
