Indoor Frogster Autopot "Zamnesia" Grow

I have e-mailed and asked the question of Zamnesia, and they have very promptly replied thus:-
  • The genetics for the Amnesia Haze Automatic are: 30% ruderalis / 20% indica / 50% sativa.
  • The genetics for the Camaral Auto are: 30 % ruderalis / 60 % indica / 10 % sativa.
I think I am fine with the Amnesia, but need to think a bit more about the Caramel with regard to feed strengths.... It may need a separate Reservoir with different strength Nutrients for each.

Very likely the Caramel may go on to bloom feed at a different time from the Amnesia, so it will need one anyway.

No problems, as I have a couple of spare Reservoirs, but, as I said... I need to think a bit more about feed EC/PPM for Caramel (I think I will feel it as I go - intuition maybe - has worked in the past - I don't always follow the crowd/norm - I like to stretch the envelope a bit). :smoking:

Yep, I know all about "Lanky".... I am going to LST those two as soon as possible I think, and give them a good dose of LED to try and keep nodes short, some silicone in the water also - may help them supple a bit more.

I had one Auto Mazar get out of hand last grow at 6ft, light burn to very top buds even after bending over at 4 ft.... she kept growing, but firmed up her branches to protect from any further bending.... noticed this before, plants learn.

That's the growth you get from Autopots !

Pull up a seat mate.... you are very welcome, and thanks for the comments. :pighug:

Amnesia do get lanky and large. I've grown quite a few and they are indeed lanky tall ladies.

I thank you Sir.... I try my Best.

I like one of the stickers they sent me... So much so.... I think it's worthy of a space on my "VW Camper Van window" - Yep, it will look nice !

Nice!

Thats what my name means but i did not think it was appropriate to have as a forum name :crying:

:smoking: Lol

Looking real healthy! Ready for rocket mode! Nice job!

In all honesty my friend.... I am not sure !

I had some Pebbles left over that were already PH'd down -from the Soil I mixed up with Perlite. I also used Pebbles as stand alone Air-dome layer in the bottom of the Autopots.

Aesthetics I guess...

But, I did read somewhere it was a deterrent for fungus nats (not that I have had or expect them). Also they help prevent splashing when top watering (the other two plants will still be top watered for a few days) and keeps the top soil from drying out under the lights..

:pass:
@Hansbricks I just did a top layer and it helps distribution on feed my roots were very healthy and Frogster is spot on it reduces risk of nates aswell definitely worth a try bro

Day 19

All the plants have been hooked up to the Res, Grow nutrients added to the res with bio crop, bio roots & Enzyme Plus - very mild strength solution (about 1.3 EC) as there is still food in the soil.

I have increased the lighting, they are now on 1000 watts of mixed HPS & LED. I am pushing these plants to see what they can take, how forgiving they are, and what each like/dislike in the way of environment.

As expected I am seeing a difference in nutrient, light and temp requirements between the "Amnesia Haze" and the "Caramel" plants.

The Caramel, is a smaller plant (with 60% indica and a shorter grow time - that is to be expected), at this stage of growth she has started showing signs of "Leaf Curl". Maybe I hit her with a bit too much light to start, It is looking like this plant likes it less bright, and a tad lower temp and needs less water (at least for now - but that may well change as she matures).

I have seen this before, when growing different varieties, nothing that unduly worries me as I grow on the upper end of the temperature range, Also, I find some strains will develop "Leaf Curl" early on in Veg, as they restrict transpiration if a fan is blowing over them too much.

They normally will grow through it without a problem, lowering light intensity and less direct fan / air movement and let her roots dry (dry roots build more as they search for water). I am sure all will be fine. However, as a precautionary measure, next time I am in the Tent and am able, I will rearrange her to somewhere a bit less light / wind intense.

The 2 Amnesia Haze are doing fine, very minor leaf curl, I can see what is required with them, think I have them dialed in OK, maybe another day or two and they should be 'spot on'. They seem to like it a bit warmer, they are fractionally bigger (Sativia infuence) and are taking it all without a problem. However, I will keep my eye on them all and adjust as required to maintain a good balance.

I am trying to find the "sweet spot", I may have to back off a little on lights for a bit longer, or at least raise them a tad, till they all sing from the same song sheet.

The Autopot Res has kicked in on the Amnesia Haze plant 1, and the growth spurt has started.... The other 2 plants are connected to the Res, but still in the transition stage from hand water to Res water.

Looking great bro a little leaf cupping is ok as you know what ure doing

Day 20

Cheers Bro.... The cupping continued and worsened quickly, so I re-arranged the tent/plant locations re-directed some fans and, Hey Ho - 15 Hrs later and looking good now....

Todays photos were taken just after the lights came on, so looking a bit limp (they take an hour to lift up their heads). Looking at them now they are back up praying.

Caramel:
  • There is some new growth and upper leaves finally relaxed, The lower leaves with the most curl will always remain as they are....
  • No loss, as they have already been replaced by new growth and they will be on my trim level anyway (strange how a little stress can cause a growth spurt, sometimes).
  • She should pick up on the res today or tomorrow.... so, take off very soon... I hope.

Amnesai Haze x 2
  • Both the plants are doing well, "Plant 1" is the largest plant, with "Plant 2" about 3 days growth behind, also she is showing different genetics from plant 1, So it will be interesting to watch them develop slightly differently.
  • The massive spurt in growth over the last 24 Hrs proves the Autopots are starting to do their thing.... It's like Magic once they kick in, you can almost watch them growing.
  • I think you will see the difference between the first pic taken yesterday and the second one taken today.

Today (she is still waking up in todays pic)

Looking at the plants I think the nutrient balance I am running is being received well, so I will keep the planned schedule for now. No other drastic changes to make, slowly decrease humidity a tad over the next few days.

Thanks for looking in!

Holy crap that's alot of growing for one night I'm very impressed with autopots

A little bit of forward thinking.....

The 2 Amnesia Haze (according to all I read) are potentially "lankey" plants.... so I thought these may help with the support requirements.

I have had "lankey" plants before... and plants that grow so well that the weight of bud makes them fall over, and it is always a problem when trying to move any "lankey" plants about,

Ordered 5 supports (0.75 meter tall) and a pack of 50 mixed size plant clips from e-bay and they both arrived today, they look as though they may do the job well.

I will fit them as required, it's always good to have alternative stuff in the Arsenal.

I fitted one of the support frames in a pot..... I think they will do just fine and give good support as the plants grow.... A good buy, I think !
