Would FFOF Soil be a good organic soil?

Fox farms has had issues over the last couple years keeping their pH on point.
Take a look thru the infirmary, you'll see FF there quite a bit.

Depending on where you are, there are many good choices. I'm on the west coast, and when using soil, I run nectar-for-the-gods #4 it's the same basic soil in sunshine #4

If you do end up using FF, ocean forest is too hot for autos, happy frog would be a better choice.

If you do want to use the Ocean Forest Soil I'd use it with Happy Frog Soil as well putting the Ocean Forest Soil on the Bottom Half of the Pot and the Happy Frog on the Top Half. This way it starts off in Good Not so Hot Soil and Grows it's way in to that Rich Hotter Soil and takes off like a Rocket Ship. I've done this with Autoflowers and has always worked out Pretty Good for me. Also mixed in Azomite and Plant got so Fat it looked like it was on Steroids lol.

They also have had bug problems!!! Won’t use it again!! BioBizz Light is my friend now :smoking:

You could always try Bush Doctor (Fox Farms) Coco Loco. It has amendments and is treated more like soil with a ph range of 6.3-6.8. I've been using it for a long while. I also use their straight coco called Plain Jane Big boy Pants. I have mixed the two for my next run to start after the Thanksgiving week.

I've used fox farms ocean forest as long as I have been growing autos but i fill my top 1/3 of the pot with happy frog because as said it's hot soil. PH seems to be fine, starts off a little low but balances out when watering correctly.
Don't forget to mix perlite or coco into it at 20% to keep it airy.
This should bring you to about week 5 or 6 of your grow by then you will need to give it some bloom nutes

Lightly amend OF with something like epsoma garden lime, to help stabilize the ph drop over time from the peat moss.

if you have a water source high in bicarvonates / carbonates you will run into less issues with ph changing over time in peat moss based mixes, or depending on the chemistry of your nutrient solution...

@AutoWonders what nutes/amendments do you use with coco loco?

i use it as a base for los...its perfectly fine...i wouldnt put seeds straight into it, and i usually lighten it up with something more peat based because oocean forest is pretty heavy , then throw in some amendments from build-a-soil...
if youre gonna dump bottled nutes into it, ph issues are possible..

Was going to make a thread to ask this question but since I’m using FFOF this is perfect. First timer here and I’ve got 8 plants in 3 gal smart pots all with 100% FFOF. My question is, how can I loosen the soil at this point? Plants are of varying ages between 7-22 days or so. A group of 5 started together another of 3.

I spray down the soil before watering and I water slow. Some times I use this 3-way and poke into the soil bout 2-3 inches from the edge down and then down and in towards the center. Recently gotten the rh average up from 40% to over 50% but the top still dries out a lot and I dk how evenly the waters being dispersed. Average temp is about 75 F and I’m running a mars hydro Cree 256 19-21” from top of plants.

Any ideas?
I’m about to go post so pics from today in my thread if that would help.
