Hi guys

I need to calibrate my ec meter quickly. To do this I thought if someone who knows there meter is accurate could give Me the ec reading from undiluted formulex. This way I could compare to mine. I would imagine it would give a pretty consistent reading. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

whats the ec of your formulex and ill tell you if it matches mine

no worries, you sure you mean ec and not ph ?

i have a bluelab truncheon which you cant caliberate but id say its bang on accurate, in order to do the job proeprly you need to get some ec caliberation soloution which is 2.77 ec

I defo mean ec, I know it's only a rough way of doing it but just wanted a quick comparison. I've done a ph calibration with buffer and it's fine. Still struggling as you've probably seen from my other thread. It's baffling me as everything seems to be ok.

well my ec meter only goes up to 19.99 and every nute I've tried is clearly too strong! if your's is under 19.99 then maybe there is a problem with my meter!

your better of getting some ec calibration soloution and checking it properly, trying to guess is not gonna help

you can order some online or from your local hydro store and even some pet stores will stock it

I was going to order some anyway to be 100% accurate. Already seen some on ebay!

Could u put 10ml in a L of water and compair the ec of that? Or would would the background ec affect it? My background ec is .4 so if yours is the same then let us know the ec with the 10ml, I think Seymours water ec is .4 too?

Thanks for the offer but I feel when added to water the margin for error would be a bit too much. I'll get some buffer to be certain.
