Just been checking over my Sweet Tooth, and have noticed a few patches appearing on some of the new growth in the lower foliage and on the first set of true leaves, no pics sorry as i cant get a photo they show up in, but am reasonably sure is the start of calcium def, as i am using light mix soil, with filtered water and no extra CalMg has been added yet as i was going to wait till the next feed.

The soil is way to moist to be feeding early, so can i feed the CalMg solution foliar and if so at what strength, would it be the same as what is shown on the bottle or weaker, picture below shows the details of the CalMg i have got, its ProCal from Green Planet.

Just looked at your plant and she is big enough to be foliar feeding. She looks a little light green as well and could probably use a dose of nutrients in the soil.

That being said, I am not familiar with your product and don't know how well it will work with foliar. If you want to give it a shot mix 1/4 strength, so about 2ml/4l of water. Used distilled if you have it. Spraying the bottoms of the leaves works best as the stomata are larger on the underside.

If it isn't formulated for foliar it shouldn't hurt them but if you have a wetting agent that would help. I use coco wet myself because it is relatively inexpensive and nonionic.

Hi A4,

Thanks for the quick reply, i will mix a litre bottle of water now with 0.5ml in and give her a spray just before lights out, no wetting agent sorry to say, so will have to give it a go and see how she takes it, making sure to try get it under her leaves.

The pics in my journal where taken under a flouro light which makes her look a bit lighter, have added some below taken with just the flash, she received her first grow feed 3 days ago which was Product X 3ml/L + Bio Grow 2ml/L + Alg-A-Mic 2ml/L which was a 1L mix with a runoff PH of between 6-6.5 and soil still seems pretty moist, but if you think it will help will give another feed tomorrow, which i will add the CalMg then or foliar which ever you think would be best.

The second pic shows the only mark on the older leaves (the top leaf of the two together, the mark on the leaf on the left has been there since it developed and am not worried about that), the pic of the new growth has a couple but they are so faint the camara dont pick them up.

Yeah, it is really whatever you feel comfortable with. I don't think it will hurt to give them another feeding but that picture in the natural light looks real good.

The foliar feeding will get nutrients into the plant pretty quickly, normally less than 24 hours and you see them perking up. The soil feeding takes a few days to see a difference. She looks real healthy to me in those pictures you posted.

Ok thanks so much bro, been such a great help.

Think i will go with a spray tonight with the above mentioned mix, and see how thing look tomorrow. If she looks to have faded at all i will give a grow feed again in the afternoon, if things dont look any worse will try hold out for a couple days more.

Are 11L pots and i started them out to damp watering to runoff from day 1 and then adding Root Juice after less than a week, as i did not have it when i started the grow with 2L of water, realised my mistake after that but the last feeds have been 1L of mix and have been feeding once a week, one of root juice and then one of grow and the soil was still not really dry enough, some am trying not to feed to much as i reckon another week and the soil will be to a level i can control the moisture again.

Mistake i wont be making again, since have a better read arounf AFN.

Thanks again, have put my mind at ease and will be able to sleep knowing that i have attempted something.

:slap:

So gave her a real good spray top and bottom of all leaves last night, and now over 12hrs later the pale patches are still on the few new growth leaves i noticed yesterday, but the new growth is still growing but the patches dont seem to be spreading, they have got a little bigger on the already affected leaves, but then the leaves have grown bigger as well, so guess its just the same mark stretching as they grow, the other rusty patch on the first true leaf has not changed at all or grown in any way.

Well for now seems to be under control, will get another feed in soon and be adding CalMg to it from now on.

Thanks again for all the help.
