I've Only ever used water didn't make sense to add something to cleanse ? But I'm willing to hear otherwise ?

actually its better to flush with flushing formula, since you want to pull out the ions from the plant matter. Canna uses (to my knowledge) enzyme based flushing formula, which is whole other case.

A flush-flush (for plant problems) is (probably/possibly) better with a flushing formula, but i would personally think a Cleanse (the last 14 or so days) of just watering (h20) is most likely better for cleaning the nutes out of the medium/plant and giving a cleaner taste/smell/smoke.

But that's just my 2 cents on cleansing :)

After some research i have a little different point of view. I would not use water to do the cleansing since its more substrate oriented. I want to cleanse the plant matter, so i would use the "flushing formula" with "empty" ions, so i can get the ions out of the PLANT MATTER. There is a big difference: cleansing the medium and cleansing the plant matter (buds).

EDIT: in my growing experience the nute companies do not want you to flush with the "flush formula" (GHE and AN for example), it will deminish your yield. I concluded from my research that a "flush flush" is done with water, since you are lowering the EC of the medium. When doing final cleanse (1-2 weeks) before harvest, then i would use flushing formula. Of course, if a grower has overfed then i would recommend using water to flush the medium (so the plant wont feed anymore) and then use the flushing formula to get the ions out of the matter (not medium).

Okay :) I don't "understand" fully but each to "their" own :)

I haven't actually used a flushing formular for cleansing a plant. Putting something in to take something out seems counter intuitive to me. I see the value in using a flushing formular to rid the medium of excess salt buildups which causes lockouts.

Sounds like an over complicated science for quite and simplistic process. Not quite snake oil - but sales talk.
I've been sold a lot of tat in my time .... including flushing formula lol

No offence meant Forestly :bighug: Just trying to get the best info for Bunny :)

I've not done any "hardcore" research into the subject and am only going by experience.
Maybe one method will get a better result that the other.

Out of interest i'll check in with some friends to see how many of them use a flushing formular and maybe change my opinion hehe :D

@Bunny Sorry if i came off as a smartass, it was not my intention. I have only grown for 6 years and there is still a lot to learn. I was trying to give another opinion, not diminish yours and all of course is merely my experience. Many roads lead to Rome :)

I read as much as i can, about cannabis sativa so i tend to start discussions. I am not a big fan of "final truths" :)

and btw.. i`m stoned/high as hell, so please excuse me, if i insulted somebody :pass:

No insult just shooting the breeze here. Don't get paranoid your not smoking Amnesia are you?[emoji6]lol always makes me a little para.
