My photo plant has just entered it's 6th week of flower and I've seen a few videos of people starting to flush at this stage and reducing sunlight hours from 12 down to 10.
Does anyone have any experience with this?

This is my first grow so looking at what to do, thanks.

There's a lot, I say, A LOT of techy stuff that some use to gain an extra gram or two. In 15 years of growing, guess I've tried most back when I had larger grows and could prove or dis-prove some of the more popular ones. I usually would test "theories" by growing 3-4 of the same strains with one as control and 2-3 to do all the shit to. I musta had a bunch more energy then to waste....
To be honest, I never saw a gain significant enough from any trick that was any better than doing the basics of care to maintain health of the plant. Anything else falls into the "pushing the rope".
The best of the "tricks" are to digest all the knowledge you can from all the places you can...collate into usable methods with plant health as your guide.
On flushing. I don't as I'm organic.
I always have a photo alongside my autos but never tried reducing lighting....when you're running a marathon, why reduce what could be a last surge? Doesn't seem logical.

Flushing is only useful if you plan to resues the soil for your next grow, but otherwise there is absolutley no need to flush, it wont improve taste, and there is really no scientific reason it should, all flushing will do is make your plant yellow and loose some leaves. As for the 10 hour light cycle, i have no ides.

Thanks for your input guys. I'm just trying to intake as much information as possible as I don't want to fuck it up now I'm on the home stretch.
I don't really smoke it, I hate the taste but I decided to grow it for my wife who has an auto immune disease and she suffers from severe arthritis throughout her body.

Although I will try smoking this hkme grown stuff as I'd much prefer to smoke then drink alcohol lol.

Have you tried using a vaporizer instead of smoking it?

About the flushing.. the Myths section of the forums has really interesting threads on the topic: https://www.autoflower.org/forums/autoflower-myth-busters.249/

ohhh... and the flavors and effects can be much more enjoyable... I love the low temps.

Reducing your flowering schedule will increase flowering speed but decrease yield. DJ Short claims that shorter light schedules elicit more sativa like qualities but there is no scientific basis. I run 11/13 as I have had some plants not flower under 12/12.

No need to flush unless you're correcting a deficiency or you've been using excessive fertilizer.

cheers folks. I'll look into a dry herb vape for sure, Thanks! Will the vape take away some of the taste? I used to smoke 20 a day but i've since quit and attempting to smoke anything makes me feel a bit sick lol. I suppose that's a good thing because i wont start smoking cigs again!

Vaporizers are the best way to taste quality weed .....my fav is the taste of a vape bagger system.

Flavor is good depending on the model. Firefly has the best taste imo but it isn't a session vape like the Mighty. I prefer convection, boundless CFX and firefly, but the mighty is a combination of both and my preferred vape. Aftermarket is big with cases, glass mouth pieces, stands, etc.

Check out vapospy.com for the best deal alerts on your preferred vape.
