Fixing ph in soil?

I used to grow hydro dwc and easily knew how to adjust ph in my hydro water. Now I'm growing in soil. My soils ph is about 8 right now. How do I get it back down between 6 and 7? Feed with water ph'd at 6 or give a flush with 6 ph water? Or do I use sulfur or aluminum sulfate? I read that it can take a while to fix ph in soil. New to soil growing so I need some guidance please. Thanks

You also don't need ph up and down liquids. Just use vinegar to lower and your cal Mag supplement will increase ph by itself.

Plain ol' powered citric acid is a bit better than vinagar.

I dont know much about organics but I'd like to learn some time.

And I'm not using a calmag supplement. I'm using mega crop 2 part and it has calmag in it.

Soil doesn't really need the ph checked. If it's a well known soil, it's buffered. Bio buzz light is buffered.. I would not try to adjust the ph of any soil. It's the total opposite of hydro. The ph levels of the soil and root zone is controlled naturally through the rhizosphere. In this situation, you would just adjust ph of the water, not the soil.

Thanks. That is what I have learned in my research and from ppl on here. Thanks to you all and the internet. Now I can get a ph tester and ph up or down. Or just use baking soda for ph down or lemon juice for ph up I've also learned. But I'll prob just buy ph up and down

Wish I never sold my bluelab combo meter :(

Neat new hack to test ph without a meter or strips or liquid test kit. You can boil red cabbage and create your own ph testing liquid. And you can also test soil samples with vinegar. If it fizzes then its alkaline between 7 and 8. If it dint fix you take another small soil sample and mix it with distilled water until muddy. Then add baking soda. If it fizzes then its alkaline between 5 and 6. If both dont fiz your soil is neutral 7 ph. You can also use the purple spinach method to test soil I learned. Interesting stuff.

This is one of the most important lessons you will learn on your journey.. Just about anything that you can buy in a bottle can be substituted for something natural. I think all that stuff like ph up and down, calmag, bud sweeteners, ect are all just for sales and profit. But to each their own. There are 242 different ways to make change for a dollar.. So image how many different ways there are to grow a plant! Find the style or combination of styles that fit your principles and purpose and run with it!
