I was on this forum in 2k12 and many of you and Muddy helped me out a ton. My cheap ass only bought beans and never anything for my setup. Well I guess my account was deactivated for lack of use (crae) oldusername. Anyways I finally have everything! The seeds I ordered in 2012 that I just opened 48 hours ago are 5 Mi5 that you strongly recommended and 5 short stuff short ryders. I have germinated one of each but for 24 hours in a glass of water then the last 24 in paper towels neither have popped yet. I have super thrive on them also. Im only doing 2 plants for my first one for trial and error to get a feel for the process. My setup and what I have are to following:

Tent: lighthouse 2.5x1.5x3
lights: 1) blackstar 240uv and 1) blackstar 500uv
pots: 3 gallon smart pots
soil: promix hp
nutes: technaflora recipe for success starter kit (recommended by local shop)
nutes: bioag - cytoplus (shop said this is there favorite product)
fan & filter: mtn 4" 190 cfm and 18" can

everything else, ph up, ph down, timer, light hangers, 6 inch clip on fan, eco testr pH2 pen, TDS EZ water pen, super thrive, measuring spoons.

Hopefully I can get these 2 beans to pop, of my two lights what would you use? I was thinking the 240 for veg and the 500 for flower? Thanks again for your help its much appreciated!!

Glad to have you back here at AFN, as far as your lights I really am not familiar with anything other than HPS and MH, but there are many here that have expereince with LED and CFL's. You might want to start a thread in one of the lighting subforums, that is if you don't get a response here(which I am sure you will) at any rate it looks like you have everything ready to rock and roll, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask away

Much appreciated Derek!! As soon as these beans decide to pop I cant wait to start a grow journal and maybe help some other newbies out from my grow!

That is the name of the game, keep your grow log going and it will most defintly help someone else down the road. Send me a PM when you get your grow journal up and going and I will sub in and watch along

Welcome bud. Those seeds may give ya alittle fit to getem cracked. Ya can hit them with some sandpaper to scuff them up alittle bit or even kinda crack them with your teeth if u feel comfortable with that. It took my old bagseed like 5 days to pop and they were over a year old. I used a knife and kinda scratched around where they would split open. I dont think 2 years is that long for seed?

Ill give them 6 more hours, if nothing than ill try the scraping method! Thanks for that tip!

Welcome (back), Haze420! Sounds like you have your kit in order :) If it were me, I'd veg under the 500w panel, and add the 240 for flower. With 500w, I'd keep the panel about 16-18 inches from the plants during veg.
I've had "old" seeds that took a few days to pop- nater is on point with recommending scuffing the seeds gently- I use a fine sandpaper in a small plastic container (glued to top/bottom) and gently shake my seeds in it. It weakens the outer shell a bit, making the pop easier on the little lady :)
Very best on your grow, and let us know if we can be of assistance!
Tokes to you!:Sharing One:

Waximus, I don't think ill be able to fit both lights in this small tent, do you recommend just using the 500 the whole grow? And my local shop recommended 24 hour lights all time? What do you all recommend?

I'd use the 500 throughout-keep a close eye on temps. I use 20/4 for lighting my autos-and my photoperoids in veg, too- and find it works best in my grows. When I was using 24/0, the plants seemed to look a bit haggard.. The Girls need a nap :)
