New Grower First Time Growing Journal

Hey thanks 912GreenSkell. I was told one out of three would be female if I was lucky. But I like your odds better :pass: Do you feel that it is important to sexy your plants if they photoperiod? I appreciate all the feed back so far!
Cheers.

There are only two reasons to get rid of males, to prevent pollen from touching the ladies, and to not waste space and nutes on plants that don't yield. So it really depends on how big you want them and how much space you have will decide when you force it to flower. If your moving them outside you could force them a few days before the transplant, and start acclimatizing them at the same time.

I have a question, so when you sex the plants does it go into flowering or if you put it back in constant light will it stay in Veg? Thanks bro. :pass: burn one.

hey KG! this is a good question, I'll be learning too, AFN, new ideas flowing forth with all the help!

If you induce the light change... you gat a picture of what is to be. then you swap the light cycle back and reveg
Okay and I was told after three branches grow I could sex the plants. And am I right with 12 on 12 off? Also after I have identified the males or females what should be the light schedule? Still 24/7? Thank you for all the useful info @stepside Chow

12/12 is right. I'm not convinced you need 24/7 to revert to veg. I try to keep my light schedule as close as I can. I would say at least 16/8

Stepside is right on all accounts. The 12/12 is only long enough for you to spot the females and discard the males...as soon as they show enough signs to 100% identify them, they should be placed in long hours of light(not necessarily at 24 hours, I just happen to run my lights for 24hours, a lights on period of 16 hours or more will revert them back to veg.
