Hey guys, a farming noob here, I apologize in advance.

What strains do you guys recommend for a simple as ABC growing, low smelling and short in height autoflowering plant?

I'm not picky, i just need one enough to let me play fifa peacefully haha.

Cheers! Thanks! :peace:

Low ryder or low ryder 2 would be an old standard that is low and easy to grow.

Welcome to AFN and the New Growers forum. Snowryder is about the least odor strain I've yet to grow. Stays short and has a strong indica hit to it. Pretty much anything from Short Stuff or Low Life is going to stay small. Just stay away from anything with diesel in it as the diesel smell can be quite potent.

Mini Gun is my choice for a little guy that doesn't stink of pot more like lilacs. Fast bud is good also for small and quick and another that doesn't stink much. Good luck with your first grow.

Seems from the reviews and suggestions I have received from experienced growers, Imma go with snowryder, low ryder and maybe a mini gun. Shall start with this three. Hopefully I will finally have some decent stuff to smoke! The amount of local stuff I smoke in a day is crazy and is a waste due to my resistance level now. Time to up the level and smoke proper stuff! Thanks and wish me luck!

If someone could kindly advise, if I were to go ahead and start on these autoflowering strains , what are the basic equipment I need? I will probably need further help whilst growing it, firstly I need to get the equipment right! Can anyone be kind enough to suggest a whole set up for (eg autoflower lowryder #2) ?

1.What kind of fertilizer is recommended? In how big a pot?

2. Do i start on a 20/4 cycle? What type of bulb is suggested?

Thanks a lot fellow herbalists!

whats your grow space size plant numbers and exp?

At the very least you need a controlled environment where you can maintain the proper temperature and humidity. The space will also need proper ventilation which will include a carbon filter to control the smell from the plants. Many choices for lighting. HPS, CFL, LED, T5s. Again, it depends on your space and budget. HPS put out good light but also create a lot of heat. CFLs and LEDs produce much less. HPS and CFLs are less expensive than LEDs but LEDs produce little heat. For pots I would suggest 2.5 or 3 gallon for the stains you've listed. Since you are new to growing, I would suggest you start with Pro Mix soil and AN pH Perfect nutrients. Pretty fool proof. You will also need a good digital pH meter. Maintaining the proper pH is about the most important thing when it comes to growing autos.

Check out some of the other grows here in the New Growers forum and in the Indoor forum. Most list their setup including lights, soil and nutrients. That will give you an idea of what's working for other growers.

I can choose to grow in my balcony which will probably provide me by a 75cm X 75cm workspace. I can choose to grow it inside the house where I can easily have a workpsace of 1.5m X 1.5m. The problem is I will have nowhere for the odour to escape. I am planning just to start by growing 3 dwarf plants? Suggestions? Thanks a lot so far for entertaining this noob farmer, esp to you Muddy. I've been here a day and I have also read a few articles you posted, and all very detailed and answers the questions posted. Cheers bro!

I would say find a spot you can vent from as it will not go well as you need airflow.
1.5m x 1.5m is a massive area its around 25sq ft!

I wouldn't recommend the balcony if you have neighbors close by. Once the plants get into flowering they are going to smell real strong and your neighbors will probably smell it. For just 3 plants you don't need a very big area. 2' x 3' would be plenty big enough. But you will need to vent somewhere. It doesn't necessarily need to be vented outdoors. With a good carbon filter you can vent back into the room or into another room. You might think about getting a grow tent. You could place it in that bigger area and vent back into that room. As long as you can maintain a good temperature in that room that could work well. Just remember that weed likes a temperature of about 80 degrees F when the lights are on.
