Hey everyone!

Newb grower here....I will update shortly with the soil type, etc....I just have to go downstairs and get the name on the bags (I used three different kinds plus perlite). I have two Early Miss (auto flower) seeds that are 6 days old (from being planted, three days of germination before that).

From other peoples photos of 6 day auto flowers, it looks like mine have way too much stem and too little leaves! What do you think? I just read up on the whole stretching thing which I think is the issue....my light may have been too high up!

Info:
Soil 1: Pro Mix Potting Soil
Soil 2: Coming soon
Soil 3: Coming soon

Plus the added perlite....

For lights I first had a 60w 6500K: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B007F7UBJG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Just today I added a CFL 26w 2700 k bulb (sitting lower down): http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00B7OL6DI/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've been watering with tap water which has been filtered well and left out for some time. My PH on the meter shows somewhere around 7-7.5 which I realize may be a bit high....

Here is a current photo, sorry it's blurry (and for some reason sideways, hmmm):

Also, here is a time lapse video of the first three days of growth, which is kinda cool! https://www.dropcam.com/c/20539fb926c441f7b1a50773ba110274.mp4

Hopefully the addition of the new light will help these ladies out a bit!

And last, I have an order coming in so that I can have a better set up:

Tent: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00H9OVMO8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i05?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Led light (which I will use in addition to the current ones): http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00FGFLCXS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i04?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Will take and post some photos when I have everything ready and running:-)

Thanks for looking....CHEERS!

Looking good man, like you said, they are a little stretched but all you will need to do is drop your lights closer, I would also add another inch or two of soil to support their long stems, but dont go to close to the rim of the pots!

I'm sure any others with advice will be dropping on in shortly too!

(edit:) Also with your PH, I would say get some PH down and bring it around 6-2-6.5 for soil. Lime juice works too, but i've never used it and wouldnt know how much is a safe amount to use!

Good luck with the grow :karma Cloud:
Pce!

Hi Kxvyvxw!
Thanks for the info, will add more soil and I've found the ph down/up on Amazon.ca! Yay!
Cheers:-)

Ok so an update....
Seedlings are still stretching too much but standing strong....I've moved the light lower and they are still growing UP! Leaves are slightly bigger. SLIGHTLY. Adding more soil tomorrow and my led light fixture comes in. We'll see how that goes. Right now the plants keep turning more toward the 6500k rather than the 2700k light. Interesting. On Friday my tent arrives so I can really get things going:-)

Ordered some ph up/down. I gotta get these ladies going....as I am leaving for 6 months to Florida at the beginning of November. I may have to get a friend of mine to do the last bit of harvest and drying, which kinda sucks cause I wanted to do it myself the fist time. Oh well! What can ya do?! I'll have something nice to come back to in the spring I hope;-)

Will take photos as my setup and grow progresses.

Today I had to run some errands....I didn't want any 'accidents' so I moved the lamp which is temporarily holding the 2700k bulb, back to it's upright position (I had it leaning on a box horizontally beforehand). In the time-lapse video below you can see them turning toward the light. The one on the right has always been the more active one in my videos. Time for the video was 2:30pm today until 3:30am....this being day 7.

Enjoy:-)

Buy a 150w hps light, save time and money.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Anything but 50 strings of wires and spirals of useless cfls and chords, and light temp, and all that baloney. I start seedlings with t5s even. CFLS are what you screw in the ceiling of your bedroom, and turn off before you go to sleep. That hum, fans blowing, light bursting from any slits in the zipper over 1000W YEHHHH GITTTER DONEEEE BOOST THAT BITCH. Sorry, I get excited when we talk lights.

Woah :) Nice time lapse Star! ^_^

That little un is hypnotic hehe
Have you got a small movement fan you can put in there, They are a little lanky and could do with some gentle stem strengthening.

When the leaves grow a bit more, there's a possibilty that she could get top heavy and fall over - I'd use a small pencil staked in the soil and a wire sandwich bag tie to hold the stem to the pencil if this happens! :)

I started growing with CFLS :) they did a fine job for me to get started, I then moved to HPS for a year or 2 and went LED. In hindsight, I would have skipped the HPS years if the LED tech was as it is now! HPS was too much heat in a small cab, which meant the light was often too far away for me to get the most out of it. LED has fixed that problem for me, but you'll still need the head room to make it work.

There are some members with small cabs and small DIY LEDS that have done really well (lowbudge is one i remember)

It's an exciting start! :)

:d5:
I'm subbed!

Thanks guys for the lighting advice! I DID look at the HPS a while ago, but it would be WAY too hot in my place! Lets just say we have a small studio, and I keep it quite hot in here as I have Raynauds (circulation problem....my body likes tropical weather....it's why we escape to Florida in the winter, ha ha!). An HPS in the tent, well lets just say, it would be a SAUNA in there, LOL! I went led instead....

Here is what is arriving today!
LED: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00FGFLCXS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Tent: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00H9OVMO8/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I am going to put in CFLs as well. I am assuming I will need another led light, correct? Or probably more than one?
What do you all think?

The final light count would be:
135w led UFO
2 CFL 26w 2700k
2 CFL
32w 6400K
1 long
60w 6500K (tube)

Cheers and thanks again! :-)

PS. Today I am moving the ladies down a bit and putting more soil in to steady out the stretching issue!
