starting off my first grow finally. Been reading quite alot on autos and figured I give them a go get some practice in this first time around.

The strains are Auto skunk mass/ Auto NYC diesel / and auto critical soma. I did have a the seeds labeled but my girl got them mixed up during the germ process while I was at work but I guess it'll make things more interesting haha.

Trying to keep it simple this first time started with Fox farm mixed with perlite and added clay pellets to the bottom to help with drainage. All plants are in 3 gallon cloth pots. Watered with tap water ph'd . Plan on just using the Fox farm trio for nutrients unless anyone here can suggest some good nutes to go with.

Put them under 2 4ft t8 tubes to start thinking the HPS would be over kill but it's about day 4 or 5 now threw them back under the HPS and they seem to be more happy.

All advice is welcome. Couple concerns I have so far is I'm growing in a non insulated shed. Just got my meter yesterday and and so far with lights on I'm at 68 temp and 69 humidity. Lights off tho humidity gets up to 78 and temp down too 61. And it's supposed to raining the next 8 days. Should I just keep the hps on 24/7? Or stick with 18/6 ?

And in case anyone was wondering seeds are from seedsupreme . Started with 6 only 5 germinated. It's day 4 or 5 now and the last of them is just breaking the soil.

Putting a 1000w hps in a 5x5 even being outdoors will get very hot. It will also trap in the condensation and humidity will skyrocket. You'll need a thermostat controlled switch or something of the sort to kick on an extractor fan if temps get to high and a dehumidifier. In that situation I'd run 24/7 and just crank fans as much as possible. Any other options will cost a lot more money.

Another option is to get some ridgid foam or even the reflective bubble wrap for the walls. Any insulation is better than none

Thanks for the reply . So do you mean you would just run the light with no tent 24/7 or with the tent and a bunch of fans ? I know the 1000 watt is alittle over kill for so few plants but it was free so I figured id give it a shot. Next grow I'll be using something alittle smaller.

That's going to be your best bet unless you run a dehumidifier. If you do run one that will increase temps which is good but cost a ton in energy. My 70 pint is filled in 48 hours. Then the extractor fan kicks on and blows out the dry air since temps get to high and sucks cold moist air back in. In a larger room or space your not trapping humidity and the fans should help with mold.

Hey so I threw one of those stand up oil heater in there and another fan to bring in some air from the outside. I'm now reading 70-72 degrees and 55 humidity. Helps that the rain took a break for now. Thanks for the help.

So plants are now 16ish days old. Temps have been lower then I would like but they've been looking just fine. Until today I watered yesterday with first round of nutes very low dose and today some of the NYC diesel leaves are looking alittle droppy. Hopefully it's just from the watering. Leaves got burnt as well from alittle water getting on the leaves and the 1000 watt.

They look good to me! The first few sets of leaves can be a little funky all on their own.
:pass:

How are the temps around the plants roots and bottom of your pots doing?
