Indoor First Sawney Bean Garage Grow

Day 4 & 1
  • So the original skoosh that I planted popped up a day after the last post. It had helmet head pretty bad. I eventually got it off but I may have taken the first try true leaves with me. Damn iPhone

The second seed I planted is popping up as well (where’s Waldo :smokeit: ). Back up in case I messed the other one up.

The boomstick just popped and is a wee little lady. Day 1

    Happy growing!

    Day 10 & 7
  • Not much to report other than the original skoosh didn’t get its true leaves ripped off when I removed the helmet. The back up never popped up. It’s all good we have 4 plants as intended. Skoosh at day 7

Environment has been averaging 76 F and 70% RH. DLI still around 15. Happy growing!

    Day 13 & 10
  • Thanks @Sawney_bean and @NORBY
Things are cruising along in the tent. The lecter is doing so well I decided to top dress her and the mint jelly.
Top dress: 50% local organic earthworm castings and 50% bu’s blend compost with 1 cup of BuildaSoil craft blend and a handful of bokashi bran.
Water: dechlorinated tap water with ful-power humic, root wise microbe complete, quijalla, and em1.

    IMG_3795.jpeg

Lecter (front) and mint jelly before top dress.

    IMG_3797.jpeg

After top dress and watering. Then covers on.
    IMG_3798.jpeg
    IMG_3799.jpeg

Tent is still averaging 75-80 F and 65-75% Rh. I just turned the light up, DLI around 19 now. I will do the same to the boomstick and skoosh (my favorite strain name rn) in the next few days.
    IMG_3800.jpeg

Thanks for stopping by and happy growing!

    Day 19/16
  • Added the first top dress to the regular earth box and put the shower cap on at day 16. They always look a little sad after. They got the same treatment as the jrs just more top dress and water. Same water mix except I used ION-14 instead of ful-power to add some silica along with humic acid. The boomstick is staying pretty squat in the front. The skoosh is in the back and is growing out of the slow start. I will update pics when they perk back up.
    IMG_3833.jpeg

Lecter is by far the happiest and showed sex 4 days ago around day 15. Today is day 19
    IMG_3834.jpeg
    IMG_3835.jpeg

    I also started leaf tucking
    IMG_3836.jpeg

Mint jelly is a bit smaller and slower but the same age as the lecter. Day 19
    IMG_3837.jpeg

    Lecter vs mint jelly height.
    IMG_3838.jpeg
    IMG_3839.jpeg

Tent is 75-80 F, 65% RH and DLI is still around 19.

Thanks for stopping by and happy growing!

    Day 28/25
  • The first 3 weeks there were no signs of fungus gnats. I didn’t mention that in hopes I wouldn’t jinx myself. But it has been a common side effect of organic growing for me since I started. They have arrived and are many already. So I mixed up a batch of mosquito bit tea and split it between the earthboxes. I also set out more sticky traps. The combination of the two always knocks the gnats back if not eradicating them. Plants are growing like weeds.

Lecter before bending her. She is looking great and really growing now since filling the Rez. Day 28

The boomstick is finally starting to grow up rather than out. One of the bushiest plants I’ve grown. Hoping she continues to get taller. I cut off a few fan leaves to expose more nodes. Day 25

    Day 37/34
  • Apologies for not updating sooner, the kid and puppy have kept me busy. Posting pics from today. Done some training and trimming. I really like how the boomstick is growing. Will update more soon. Also the tent has been running between 80-85 F most of this run. Hotter weather is coming and it’s too expensive to run the AC in the garage. Hope they will won’t stress too much.

Lecter. Stopped stretching, bit disappointed but still looking good. Day 37

    Day 51/48
  • Apologies for the lack of posts just had a lot going on lately. My tent has been consistently 82-90 degrees F for the last couple weeks. Mostly in the upper 80s. Even though they have all stayed pretty squat, they look and smell great even with the high temps (highest I’ve ever had in my tent). I’ll need to get some extra CO2 going next summer.

Lecter is furthest along and though she’s one of the smallest plants, she is STACKING very nicely. Those colas are fat already. You definitely got some fast growing autos @Sawney_bean. I think I’ll get a good amount off her. Smells great and is sticky and frosty. Day 51

    IMG_4027.jpeg
    IMG_4028.jpeg

Mint Jelly. Biggest of the bunch. Still small for my standards. Stacking nicely and getting that nice minty essence to her that I love smoking. Guess it reminds of smoking menthols, though I haven’t done that for years. Day 51

Broomstick, looking nice and starting to stack. Day 48

Lastly little wee skoosh. This is definitely a quick auto and might finish before the lecter. She is stacking nicely. Day 48

    Happy growing y’all!!!

    Day 57/54
  • Forgot to say thanks for the reps from the last post @420autoflower :pass: also I’m having a hard time figuring out how to upload the trich pics I took today. The skoosh is almost all cloudy trichomes at day 54 but still putting out white pistils, I’m assuming heat stress but not sure. I was thinking she needed another week or two.
    IMG_20240723_094209454_Original.jpeg

I’ll try to get the trichome pics up if I can. They won’t even appear when I choose to upload them. They are relatively small jpeg files, not sure why they won’t upload.

Lecter day 57, she is quite chunky but she had quite a few clear with some cloudy. Smells great and I love the trichomes coverage.

    Day 68/65
  • I’ve been bad at updating this grow. I’m finding out that summers are busy here. We like growing all plants but my favorite is still:growing:

    IMG_4212.jpeg

Everything stayed pretty short but its all getting nice and chunky. All I have been doing is filling up the rez's whenever they are dry. Ill also add ful-power humics, em1, or quijalla in the water.

Lecter is the chunkiest and frostiest so far. I'm trying to remember the smell of each plant but my wife and I just smoked a J of Blueberry breath (dream beans) and root beer float (JeanO) and I'm having trouble typing this. I think it’s taken me half hour to get this far. Then these two needed to let out some energy. Tug with a little ball, love my silly pups.
    IMG_4215.jpeg

Sorry, Back to Lecter, I remember a nice sweet smell and some hard buds. Seeing senescence, shes drinking really slow now and hasnt bulked much in the last week. I think she is close to ready. I will have some free time this week and plan on chopping her. But what do yall think? Day 68.
    IMG_4197.jpeg
    IMG_4199.jpeg
    IMG_4200.jpeg

Mint Jelly is bulking up, I like the look of her too. Nice frost and has a nice sweet n sour mint scent to it. Day 68

    IMG_4203.jpeg

    IMG_4204.jpeg

Boomstick on the right and Skoosh on the left.
    IMG_4205.jpeg

Skoosh is nice and frosty as well. The smell was sweet sugar up front followed by pine and berry. I think I will be chopping her along with the Lecter this week. Day 65
    IMG_4206.jpeg
    IMG_4208.jpeg
    IMG_4207.jpeg

Boomstick is also nice and frosty and starting to fill out, I think she will be the last to finish. Smells funkier then the rest and very intense. Its hard to describe, it almost stings the nostrils (Sex Panther anyone). Just straight funk is all that comes to mind. I really like the structure. All I did was leaf tuck a bit at the beginning and move 2 side nodes. I need to do one more nice trim. Day 65
    IMG_4209.jpeg
    IMG_4210.jpeg
    IMG_4211.jpeg

Also, all of these buds are rocks, like straight rocks. Really sticky too. I am looking forward to smoking all of these plants. I love the variety of growing autos. I wish I could grow more than 4 plants. Some awesome genetics @Sawney_bean

    Skoosh harvest. Day 66
  • was able to harvest the skoosh tonight. WOW she is pungent. Stunk up the garage, my wife said holy shit when she walked in. The smell has so much going on. I got hints of bubblegum, watermelon, floral and astringent. Very sticky and covered in frost. I wet trim and breakdown the buds, then dry in paper bags. Has always worked well for me. They are in a closet, temp 72 and humidity started at 42% but is now at 48% after adding a wet towel. That was about 40 minutes ago. Hoping it will jump up more.
