New Grower First Real Grow - Critical Orange Punch Auto / Mazar Auto / Cinderella Jack Auto

Hey Bro, I'm running DWC and was running a Viparspectra led, just had a look through this thread, looks like you have everything set up nicely but just a couple things I would alter slightly, I think you said your res is 6.7 or 6.8? That's a good number for soil but a tad high for DWC, in Veg I try to keep it between 5.8-6.1, In flower I aim a bit higher at 6.5 and let it drift down but never below 5.6, also I would stop top feeding and let the roots find the water now, as long as the res is wicking the hydrotron you should be fine.
Good luck bro! :bump:

Awesome bro thank you. I would have carried on at 6.7 and wondered why it was performing badly.
What you said about top feeding make so much sense, the more i feed her from the top the more she will expect it and not go looking for the massive reservoir of feed 3" away haha.
Thanks again bro

No worries, I also run Shogun nutes and for me I need to ph my nutrient mix 0.6 lower then I want it as after I add to the res and it becomes oxygenated by the airstones it makes my ph rise by this amount, it should stabilise after this but next time you make up your batch of nutes ph it and add to the res but check it a couple hours later and see if same thing happens with yours.

I just check and leveled the ph to 5.7. I was shocked when i checked it, as it was at 8.4. Could this be from the air stone and the water changing temp while in the tent?
Ill be sure to check this way more often in future.

Yeah you should check your ph and Ppm's everyday and make a note of it, if your like me and check in on the girls multiple times everyday then just take your meters with you lol.
If Ph is rising and ppm's/EC are rising then your feeding to much so dilute the feed with plain ph'd water
If PH is dropping and ppm's/EC are dropping then you need to up the feed.
Also make sure you store you ph meter correctly after every use, don't ever let the diode dry out or it will break and also make sure it's calibrated regularly as these meters are essential in DWC.

Sounds like brilliant advice. Thank you!
I continued to check the pH as the day went on. Its rising pretty fast, i must have overshot the nuits. I was careful to be always 1/4 - 1/2 of the manufacturers guide lines.
The Cinderella Jack is acting weirdly compaired to the others that are in soil. Presumably because the pH is off and the roots are weary to go into the feed.
Its tiny and the leaves are curling over themselves. Ill get a photo for you guys once the lights come back on.

Day 10:
Well I'm about ready to give up on the Cinderella jack now. Ive got another auto seed i could pop in its place and do things better. I dont feel as though this plant is going to recover much from this. She hasn't grown in days if any thing it looks worse off now.
Any ideas where ive gone wrong?
The other two look healthy, the Mazar more so.
Here are some pics

hi my friend i thought i would pop in and say hello you have a great little setup if i can offer one piece of advice just keep it simple ive grown monster plants under a 600w viperspectra so you are in good hands light wise i grow in autopots and coco clay pebbles and thanks so much for posting a journal on AFN

I've had some personal things going on of late, which has made it difficult to post up on here.

I'm at day 45 now and everything is looking pretty good. I've had a few tiny hiccups on the way. I over watered once and underwatered once, other than that it's been a smooth ride so far. So I decided to start a 4th which is a Think Different Auto.

Pics in order..
