Hey Y’all I am a first time grower, and these are my first girls.
I’ve been really nervous about them making it to harvest because I have never grown a plant before.
They were looking fine until recently about day 23.

Here’s the information on them:
Ph 6-6.5 water only.
• Medium- fox farm ocean Forrest
• Lights- mars hydro ts3000 QB 15 inches away
• Environment details -50% humidity 75f
• Strain tropical wizard by night owl
• Age - day 23
• Pot Size -5 gal fabric pot
• Nutrient line and schedule -none used yet
• Watering volume - half gallon

@psychonaughtsmoker :welcome:Welcome to AFN:welcome:Usually when people show up in the infirmary using FFOF it is because they need to feed it something but in your case it looks like it is too "Hot" meaning too much fertilizer in the soil. The curved hook leaves and dark green color usually mean too much nitrogen but I can see some calcium lock-out as well.So it could be the minor elements are getting locked out also.

What is your water source PPM and PH? If you are on municipal water go to their website and get the latest water quality report. We are looking at two things Water Hardness and the Sanitation section.

A foliar feeding of Humic Acid, and Kelp 5:2 will help pretty quick if it is the minors. This is just a band-aid we need to get to the cause.

Thanks for your time helping me out!

the water source is well water, 90-100PPM, 6.-6.5PH after using PH down (starts at 7PH)

I water a half gallon per plant and it last about 2 days or so until dry.

I am super worried about these girls and I’m really hoping they produce something, they are very stinky and have lots of pistils.

What is your light schedule?

Your lights are pretty intense at that distance depending on your power level?

I really think your soil is too hot but trying to correct it usually does as much damage as good. The plants may just adapt.

At this point I recommend a foliar application of Humic Acid and Kelp in a 5:2 ratio, 5 parts HA and 2 parts K. Or Microblast from Earth Juice.

thank you so much!

My light is set to 75% power, and schedule has been 24/0, mainly to keep my environment dialed in as it is pretty cold, should I raise the lights?

If I order those supplements and they take like 5 days to get here do you think the damage will be too great? I live in a very rural town and everything here is miracle gro lol so online is a must unfortunately

I was worried this would make me lose both entire plants, I would be happy with even a 15-20g yield per plant so I’m not aiming very high as to keep expectations low, do you think they will make it to the finish line?

once again I’d like to thank you for helping me out, my stomach is in knots over this :/

You've got a handful of things going on. I'd follow advice above AND take light up to 24 inches. At 15 inches, even at 75%, the light its getting is way too much for a plant that's struggling, especially 24/0. When I'm under LED, I start high and lower each day to "harden off" paying close attention to how the plant responds.

Thanks for the advice, I am about to raise it up some, initially it was 24 inches away but they grew into it and I wasn’t sure if I should move it, now I know lol.
Some people are telling me to flush, do you think I need to flush, or add cal mag?

or just add the 5:2 when it comes in from online and keep watering as normal?

I appreciate the help, do you think my girls will make it to the finish line?

You can flush. I've noticed with most first timers, overwatering is a major issue. (The plants shows possible signs of that, as well as the lights being too close.) The best advice I've got for watering soil, is the pot weight. I check each plants weight every day. (not on a scale, but just by picking it up.) When you pick up a plant that needs water, it should almost feel like an empty plastic bottle. It's not precise, but it's a great indicator to what's close to needing water and what can wait. If the pot seems light, I test the soil, roughly an inch down. If there's some moisture there, I'd wait until next cycle. I prefer watering plants at lights on, but not 100% sure it matters. They should make it to the finish line, just won't be as great a yield as possible. Any yield for a first timer is good though.

Thank you so much for putting my mind at ease, I’m not really worried about a large yield, I would be happy to have grown anything, even like 10g a plant.

For flushing I was told I could use 5 gallons of PH 6-6.5 water, per 5 gallon pot, since I have not added any extra nutes I was told I wouldn’t have to run the full 15gallons per pot, is that correct?

I will let it dry it out really good before I flush, on the last gallon of flush should I add in a low dose cal mag for the yellow/browning? I’m trying to keep it simple so I don’t mess it up anymore..

I really really appreciate your time, I don’t have anyone I can ask for help in real life and I am a very anxious person, it’s literally kept me up all night trying to figure out the best thing to do..anyways know that your help is very much appreciated friend, thank you!

Flushing is exactly what I wanted you to avoid. Fox Farms Ocean Forest is heavily amended. When you flush you will rinse out the more soluble nutrients leaving behind mineral elements and a poorly balanced soil of unknown composition. It is very difficult to get it back in balance then because you simply do not know what is needed. Flushing soil is an absolute last measure tactic in soil. In coco and hydro it can be a standard practice.

24/0 was the light schedule I suspected and can be a part of the plants poor performance. I have grown 24/0 and even though the yield was a little higher than 20/4 or 18/6 it was the poorest quality. After several experiments I grow at 18/6 and it is what I recommend you use.

The light is a little strong but I don't think it is part of the problem other than 24/0. I have plants 4 inches below >1000 PPF and they are not burning.
