Day 24, all 3 plants growing well, I do have one that is showing some problems that I'm unsure of how to proceed. If anyone has any thoughts lemme know.
Environment is 72 farenheit, (22 celcius) humidity, (I don't have a humidity monitor, I will be investing in one shortly though) my best guess 30-35% rh. Declorinated tap water at 6.5 ph.
2 of the 3 have farm fox ocean forest soil with nature's living soil mixed in the bottom 1/3 of the pots, both in a 3 gallon. 1 is in a 5 gallon with just ffof and no super soil.
The plant in question has identical soil and watering routine as the other yet the other looks great. After noticing the leaves starting to curl up on the edges a little, I raised my light from about 15 inches to 20 inches above the tops of the plants. My first thought was the light was too close.
The spots however have me stumped. Since the soil with the super soil in theory should be providing enough nutrients, I assume it to be a burn, unless the microbial life isn't keeping up with the demand and I thought a deficiency, I went with deficiency and have began adding unsulphered black strap molasses to the waterings at 1 tablespoon per gallon, they have only been watered once since using the molasses. I'm keeping an eye on her and so far for the last 3 days she appears to still be growing and doesn't look any worse.
The plant with just the ffof soil had slight yellowing to the new top leaves, I'm guessing a nute deficiency since it's right around the time that the plant should be fed, one problem is I have another small batch of living soil I'm planning to use as a top soil for her that hasn't arrived yet so I decided to use a miracle grow bloom fert. (Please don't kill me!) I used about a 1/4 teaspoon in a gallon just to hopefully give her the nutes she needs until the living soil arives. But she is the biggest plant of the bunch bring in a 5 gallon.
Thanks for checking out the progress, hopefully on the next update I will have nothing but good news.
