New Grower First grow, what to expect?

Oh @witchyhour the woes many of us had back in the day, well not me cause i stayed away from the hype, but there were several strains out there that were Simi-auto and straight out non auto at all. There was a big problem when the market started shifting into the Auto world. So many breeders wanted in to the new idea but they were producing less than ideal strains. There were all kinds of issues with the seeds autoing and going into flower. Lots of guys i can remeber had to 12/12 their so called autos.

Your plant is looking good, for just starting this it can be a trick to get the hang of it. Autos are the type of plant that you have to actually grow each time as a majority to this day are still less than homogeneous and you can see several pheno expressions in the same seed pack.

The rule that i use is that typically cannabis can stretch up to 3x its size once it starts to hit flower. The stretch will stop once bud set begins. You will see this in a few ways. One the vertical growth with stop and the crown will form, and two you will see clustering of the caylex's this will indicate flower.
Sooo is this preflowering

This is sex/preflower, and something to remember even photos left to veg long enough will show sex under veg period lighting, or anything that is 16 hours + on. If this plant is as old as you say it is, id almost bet that if you drop the lights to 12/12 youll see a change in the plant.

Current automatic cannabis have a pretty stable auto gene, and when i say that i mean that the genetic combo and correct hormones are bred into the strain that have the auto response under any light. Pheno expression is a whole other conversation. So with that said most autos wont go over three weeks to show preflower. Most i see have showed at 16-20 days but have also had some that sex before that at like 13 and 14 days.

i think that @witchyhour may have called this one..it might just be photo

I's not too cold to the touch but that is def one thing I have been doing wrong I'm actually about to vamp up the room this weekend and one of the things I will add is insulation. I had no idea was I was going to use to do so though so thanks for the idea!
You can even use an upside-down bucket under the plants, if height is not an issue...

Yoy got pics? With Preflower comes stretch, then build buds. Make sure your water is room temperature and not on the concrete [emoji106]
Yup, you'll have a stretch, then at the very end, a week or two just fattening. [emoji121] [emoji6] [emoji106]

And im not trying to be harsh, but i can see something here in that last photo..

how often are you watering.?
I'm lucky I got started by the time most seeds are pretty well developed. Although I do wish I'd started growing years ago!

Wait what do you mean there would be a change is i switched to 12/12 ? and it has to be something I am doing wrong then because I am using 4 different types of auto fems and they are all reacting the same way, I am using the 20/4 light cycle could this be why? Also when I refer to the age I count it from the day I dropped the plants in water that's when it should start the countdown correct?

Nothing you're doing wrong, but it feels like your auto is actually a photo (wrong seed sent, unstable strain, many reasons why you might have a photo, we see it a lot).

So, for an auto, 20/4 is great, what I use as well. But if it turns out to be a photo, it will NOT bloom unless you change the lights to 12/12, or whatever combination that gives the plant at least 12 straight hours in the dark. You can actually give even more than 12 hours. When I oversleep, they oversleep, too. What messes them up is to cut their sleep short of 12 hours.

OK so I want to keep them in veg so they will get bigger then before I switch to 12/12. So if they are photo even with being in preflowering I should be fine keeping them this way?

Yup! That's exactly right. With autos, if the plant gets stunted, you're screwed, because she won't stop and recover before blooming, so recovery time is eating from blooming time and you end up with a tiny plant. I've had one bud wonders! [emoji121] [emoji13]
