Hey guys, first grow and I’m documenting it on the new growers journal forum. Question about one of my seedlings... Does anyone know what’s going on with this one, and if it’s a problem?

Problem: white spot and missing part of leaf

Medium/grow method: FFOF

Feed: and supplements used: None used yet

water source: pH tap water

Strain/age: Buddha seeds Purple Kush

light used: HLG 260w

Climate: 3x3 tent with 82 degree temp high

Additional info: the seedling has been above ground for two days now.

Just a mutant, either drop another or take a chance and let it be. I've had them come back and takeover tent and others just never do much of anything.

It looks normal outside of that white spot that’s there. It wasn’t there this morning.

Give it a few days and see how it’s doing. Doesn’t look like much to be worried about at the moment.

That is called "variegation".. Or a "variegated leaf". It's genetic, not an illness. It happens at the cellular level. The cells in that white spot lacked the green pigment of chlorophyll. The spots are usually white or yellow or light green.. You might see it on other random leaves as it grows out. Nothing to worry about.

The chem-d clone only is famous for its variegated leaves.. My cut does it all the time.. I just pulled these two leaves of my chem-d plant as an example..

Looks to have 3 pod leaves... Thats a mutant in my book. Most continue to branch in 3's some grow out of it. I just chopped a sour stomper that done that. Main cola was a beast.

Here’s a better look. It does have a third leaf. Should I start germinating another seed?

I get what you're saying, but for educational purposes, and not confuse the person asking the question, I gave the textbook answer. Just like the three leaves you are seeing doesn't make it a "mutant" by definition.. An anomaly? Maybe! But it's actually quite common in plant life. Its called a "trifoliate". That's the technical name. Nothing strange or off about it. Most cannabis plants grow out of it by the 5th node or so.. But if they dont grow out of it, you get an extra branch per node, which means more weed! No one I know kills off a trifoliate cannabis seedling or a seedling with variegation. It happens in plants.. It's like killing off a human baby because it has freckles or a problem saying words that start with the letter F..
