day 25
Day 25:
I've pretty much gotten over the 'excitability' factor...ya know...yer first grow...hovering over the seedlings. Now I'm becoming MUCH more in tune with the plant itself and it's needs. My girls and I metamorphosizing. My goal is to simply to take one plant from start to finish. This is my baseline. Out of 4 seeds (Jock Horror, prolly not the best choice for a beginner), two show promise, another, a transplant, damaged, has become the model for my next grow...and also a MUTANT. if I can get a simple single cola from the transplant into drip/recirculate, I will head in that direction, Truu/Jayar-like method. Since I've grown world-class geraniums (8" blooms, 4 per plant), I really think I can dick this. I've learned quite a bit here. I'm gonna choose to stick with SIMPLE from here on out. If I'm wrong, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!. Products which include the words or prefixes like, mega, sooper, GINORMOUS(I actually fell for this one) will in the future be avoided. Cal/Mag, Micro nutrients, Grow Nutes and Bloom Nutes along with enzymes for roots will be my only goodies for the next couple grows. Flush as well. I'm gonna try to stick with A SINGLE MANUFACTURER, in my case, General Hydroponics, to ensure compatibility.
24 hour lighting (600W MH) has proven virtually NO stretch but, vigorous, compact growth. It's difficult to find the calyx and pistils in the early stages due to jungle-like undergrowth (assisted by CFL's). I do, poke around daily to inspect the sex. I'm sure the plants like being touched with loving hands. The stalks are way thicker than I would have guessed. Following are the pics to date:
top right: preparing for next grow. 2 Northern Lights (recommended for newbies, and 2 White Widows AUTOs both. Yeah, that's a zippo pipe lighter showing off the health of the stalk. Even the MUTANT has responded to 'the NEW ME'!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanx fer lissenin.
