This is day 26 since it popped its little head above the ground.
I germinated in paper towel then planted directly in final pot.
It's in a 3 gal fabric pot filled with ProMix that I bought at Lowe's.
The strain is Blue Cush from Seedsmans.
Light is blurple "300 watt" (130 true watts) about 20" above top of plant.
Have been feeding FoxFarms Big Bloom and Grow Big (1/4 strength) for the past week or so.

Anyway, as you can see, it's only about 4 1/2" tall and its in pre flower (at least I think it is)

It looks pretty healthy to me.
Did I fuck something up?
Is it just meant to be this small?
Will it shoot up before it starts to flower?

Enquiring minds want to know!

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure on your soil, but canna likes a airy, well drained medium and that may well be the issue. Some vendors even suggest adding coco coir for better airation. You will probably end up with a small harvest, but the best thing is you will learn something from every grow and your yields will increase with each harvest! Good luck! :headbang:

Having your light close can stunt a plant too. You could try backing it off a bit, blurples are suck and see with height.

Sent from my comfy chair.

It's basically peat moss with humus and perlite mixed in. It's pretty airy.
Thanks

I don't have anything useful to add in terms of advice, however I will sympathize with you. I am just finishing my first grow, and in all honestly probably had my expectations set too high. After seeing countless auto's on this site larger than my Laurel hedge, I figured why can't I do the same? This can't be that hard can it, especially since I have years of experience in my outdoor garden with non-cannabis related plants.

Wake up call for sure. That said I made countless mistakes, however have learned from each and every one of them. My plants were probably the same size as yours at that stage, and while they haven't amounted to much more then scraps on @TaNg 's trimming table, I am happy with them for a first go. Look at my avatar, that is the main cola from the plant I am referring to. They are almost ready to harvest.

Not really sure where I was going with this to be honest. I am eager to get back in the tent once these 2 finish up and give it another go.

Good luck to you with your grow, I hope it goes well and hopefully you have learned as much as I have so far

Be patient brother, My plants started off pretty funky looking. I stunted them by over watering but they did take off and started stretching towards my light and they are budding nicely. Not as good as many I've seen on here, but I've got some definite buddage going and my harvest won't set any records (this time) but I will get buds if I don't do something stupid and kill them off that is...

Hang in there, she may stretch yet, just keep it simple!

Thanks for the encouragement, it really helps.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting much in the way of problems since I have a lot of experience with growing other plants. Clearly I have more to learn.
I definitely over watered very early on and that probably stunted growth.

Next time I'm going to start in solo cup until it gets established then transplant to bigger pot. Trying to manage a tiny seedling in a 3 gal pot was weird.

I have some sweet cheese auto seeds that are supposed to take 60 days. I'm planning to travel in Europe during January, I wonder if I germinate now if I'm cutting it too close?

From what I have learned, don't go by the timeframe breeders say.
It usually takes a few weeks longer than they say.
