Hi everyone
I have 3 cream caramel seedlings; all sprouted on the 1st of March. In 60% coco and 40% perlite.
2 were sprouted in their final pots (11LT), 1 (pictures) is in a solo cup.
Before anybody tells me anything
: I know that is common practice to start straight in your final pot with autos ( as I ve done with 2 out of 3 seeds); I decided to have 1 in the solo cup and transplant later (hopefully in a few days), as I failed my first grow miserably due to over watering (I didn't have any perlite in the mix, no good drainage and used a huge 18LT pot). So I just wanna check what works best for me and try to find the bast way to water coco.
Anyway, Day 10 has just begun.
I only took pictures of the one in the solo cup as with lights on is really hard to get decent pictures of the other 2, so I quickly removed the cup from my tent and took a picture.
They all pretty much the same size and height. All at the same point of development: 1 set of true leaves developed, 2nd set coming in slowly.
A few background info:
Lights: 2 x 30w cfls and 1 x 20 cfls on 20/4. Each bulb on top of each seedling, the 2 30 watt to the sides and the 20w in the middle. All close to each other, light is shared. I started adding an additional 20 watt a few hours a day, just to give them more lumens. But don't want to stress them with too much light too early. They are in a tent, reflection is good. Cfls kept at 3 inches.
Medium: above.
Environment: 6'' clip on fan, 60x60x140 grow tent.
Temperature: 27-29 lights on; 21-22 lights off.
Nutrients: coco A and B with tap water, always phed to 5.8. Haven t watered much. In 10 days each plant got a total of 90-100mL. Each plant has been watered 3 times, each time 30 mL. The last 2 times I Used nutes at a conc of about 1/8. Many ppl told me to do so as soon as I see the first set of true leaves coming in, as coco has nothing in it. It was good. No signs of nute burn or anything like that.
All I want to know is: Does this look under developed for an auto at 10 days of life?
Looking at picture of my strain found online, by this time I should have at least another set of true leaves fully developed or something.
Do not wanna seem impatient but don t want to screw this up twice the sme way. I had this problem in the grow i failed, the plant stayed this size for about 3 weeks, lol (but i was really overwatering, and no perlite that time).
Also if anyvody has a few trick to share regarding watering small seedlings in big pots in COCO would be amazing. and by the way, for coco lovers, am not saying is bad (don t have experience for that), but I don't think it is an easy medium.
So please let me know if the picture look good.
