Hey guys, hoping to start my first grow in the next few days just waiting on a couple of things before i start, ph tester and seeds. Ordered some candy kush from herbies.

So my set up is
1.2 x 1.2 x 2.0m tent
600w hps and a small cfl to get me started, only 14w though maybe too dimm?
5" mountain air filter/ 5" rvk fan
4" inch ram intake
6" clip on fan

Ive got a bag of biobizz light mix and a bag of Plagron royal mix also got biobizz bloom, grow and topmax. Got all the biobizz stuff before i read some dubious reports on it though. Going to order some epsom salts to hopefully help with that!

Anyway i plan to use the 16oz tiered cup method with biobizz light in the cup then the plagron royal mix in 11 litre square pots may even try and get even bigger pots because i think im only going to grow 4 plants in the tent.

Well thats my plan. If im missing anything obvious or anyone has any tips/ideas i would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance AFNers

Good luck man! CK is an awesome strain. Why not dampen your soil get it going before the plants go in. Are you growing organic or just using Biobizz products?
You will probably struggle with the 14w after the first week, but see how it goes. I'm not sure what the tired cup method is but be careful as auto's don't do well with any stress.

Apart from that good luck, peeps here will help you if you get stuck!

Cheers dazed, thanks for the advice i'll dampen the soil first.
I was thinking that too about the light i might have to just use the 600w hps after a few days/ week and keep it a good 3 feet away and keep the cfl low. May reduce stretch a little i dont really know?

I dont even really know if im growing organic or not nutes are but unsure about soil!
Appreciate your input :Sharing One:

Hi sanguine,

I agree with Dazed on tiered method.
I'm on my first grow and used tiered method as well. My plants seem just alittle bit stunted, which I think because of tiered. You can check my diary, the link is at my signature.

So I would suggest you (with disclosure that I'm a rookie) to just lay them in their final pots.

Best of luck to you!

Cheers for the input again guys. Would you recommend i fill the bottom half of my pots with the hotter soil (plagron royal mix) and the top half with biobizz light then? Or just use all light mix and up nute feeding.

I just looked into the Plagron Royal Mix and it says it's loaded to be good for 3-4weeks. Def don't put any seedlings in there, so yes I would layer it but even half and half could be too much, maybe 1/3 Royal to 2/3 light mix. Light mix will be good for the first 7-10 days in my experience, then you can feed Biogrow lightly. It's hard to say with no experience with the Plagron but I assume it's the same kind of thing as Biobizz Allmix which I have and continue to use. I would def add some lime, keep the pH in check, usually 1tbs per gallon is good. Just try to keep in mind that when the roots hit that bottom layer, they won't need anything much. If you're not too sure and worried you might screw it up, keep it simple for your first grow and use only light mix and follow the Biobizz schedule.

Edit: You can add the lime now as it takes a week or so to do it's thing.

My soil is
%50 Biobizz LightMix, %20Biobizz Allmix, %20 Perlite, %10 Coco Coir.
I blended them all together.
But the seed/seedling part was only lightmix and perlite..
I'm not sure if that makes any sense to you, but this is the only info I can give.

Thanks again dazed and pisadres really appreciate you both taking the time to help me out. Lime and perlite are on my shopping list :thank:

There is a 24hr help thread here if you get into an trouble. Also check out Muddy's Guide The Life Cycle Of Auto Flowering Cannabis.
