hey everyone,

im new here and very new to growing. i decided to give it a go with the new legalization here in canada. i sowed four seeds directly in 3 gallon Root Pouch fabric pots filled with bagged Canna Coco and amended with Gaia Green all purpose organic 4-4-4 (will be top dressing with Gaia Green power bloom 2-8-4 when the time comes). i am only watering with dechlorinated tap water PH'd to 6.6 which is what i've read is good for the beneficial bacteria.

the strains i am growing are Dinafem's Blue Cheese Auto and FastBud's Girl Scout Cookies auto (two of each). they all popped through the soil on October 17 showing the first set of single-blade, serrated true leaves.

for lighting i have an Optic 2 hung at 24" above canopy but noticed the two plants furthest away from the light (blue cheese 1 and gsc 2) were growing rather slow so i added an old HollandStar 6-band temporarily until my HLG-100 arrives which i will add to the tent, removing the blurple light, and operating in conjunction with the Optic 2. i am running the lights on an 18/6 schedule.

the humidity was sitting around 55-60% but has dropped as i had to turn on my exhaust fan due to the HollandStar light putting out much more heat than the Optic 2. without the fan running the temperture within the tent rose to nearly 32C).

here are some photos taken just this morning which would be day 11.

:welcome: Hi @thechineseguy and welcome to AFN! :welcome:

I believe I would re-think using pure water with coco coir. After adding cal/mag, (which is a must for coco), and nutrients, your solution should be at least 400 PPMs and ph'd to 5.9 during veg and 6.0 in flower! Good luck! :headbang:

thanks for the welcome.

my organic nutrients are dry and get mixed in with the medium so it does not get added to the water. im basically following what Mr Canucks Grow (on youtube) does as he has great success with this method and i like the simplicity.

this is the stuff im using http://gaiagreen.com/allpurpose.html (i hope im not breaking any forum rules by posting this link. mods feel free to edit if needed)

i just got home from the Cannabis Living Expo in toronto. chatted with one of the guys from Boogie Brew so i will be using their tea as well.

That's too cool to go to a Cannabis Expo! :d5: There's suppose to be a virtual cannabis expo coming up, but I'm not sure if I can post a link to it or not? I check and get back with you! :headbang:

Btw, I've only used large blocks of coco that I mix with petlite, so I wouldn't know anything about any bagged or pre-charged coco! :headbang:

Nice set up, your two girls are stretching a bit, might need to inch the light closer imo

Sent from my comfy chair. [emoji3][emoji41][emoji848][emoji12]

if this method does not work i will probably give the Canna line of nutes a try but am hoping this does work for me. lol

Not only am I allowed to mention it, but I just found out AFN is a Gold Sponsor! :woody:
