Something clear like an inner seed coat was stuck to the Blue diesel keeping the cotyledon leaves stuck facing up and the first set of real leaves stuck inside. The first true set of leaves were poking out of the side today while cotyledons were still up. Saw what looked like a very thin and small plastic bag on top perfectly tight and shaped like a seed with a little brown spot on top as you can see in the pictures posted before. I've never read or heard that happening in any journals Ive read. It was weird, never noticed it until I really examined up close. I've read plenty of journals with people worried about the actual seed shell being stuck or limiting growth after a certain point but this was just weird in my case. The shell fell of naturally, but that weird clear thing was just holding growth back so I cut it with a small scissors and got it off and the plant opened right up.
As far as the Afgan ryder, I used the scissors and basically tapped the shell right off the stem, 2-3 taps and it fell right down. They look and seem happier. Still don't know what the hell ate or burned a hole in the damn cotyledon leave, or what was underneath. But I did have a gnat or mosquito or similar in the dresser today : / Now no more touching em till training begins, which I would think would be around 2nd or 3rd true sets of leaves? Sound right?
Got the new timer in, same model, but works fine for now anyways. To be continued.
Edit: Pic from this morning. Watering these small containers is a headache. Dont know when to water them! They always look dried out, and I am scared of over watering.
