Indoor First Grow Attempt: 250w Dresser Stealth Soil Grow

Something clear like an inner seed coat was stuck to the Blue diesel keeping the cotyledon leaves stuck facing up and the first set of real leaves stuck inside. The first true set of leaves were poking out of the side today while cotyledons were still up. Saw what looked like a very thin and small plastic bag on top perfectly tight and shaped like a seed with a little brown spot on top as you can see in the pictures posted before. I've never read or heard that happening in any journals Ive read. It was weird, never noticed it until I really examined up close. I've read plenty of journals with people worried about the actual seed shell being stuck or limiting growth after a certain point but this was just weird in my case. The shell fell of naturally, but that weird clear thing was just holding growth back so I cut it with a small scissors and got it off and the plant opened right up.

As far as the Afgan ryder, I used the scissors and basically tapped the shell right off the stem, 2-3 taps and it fell right down. They look and seem happier. Still don't know what the hell ate or burned a hole in the damn cotyledon leave, or what was underneath. But I did have a gnat or mosquito or similar in the dresser today : / Now no more touching em till training begins, which I would think would be around 2nd or 3rd true sets of leaves? Sound right?

Got the new timer in, same model, but works fine for now anyways. To be continued.

Edit: Pic from this morning. Watering these small containers is a headache. Dont know when to water them! They always look dried out, and I am scared of over watering.

Just checked on the babys since they just woke up at 4 and watered them, and noticed the temp at 81.3 and humidity at 27% and not much growth whatsoever which I usually do see everyday! Max temp at 84.6 , Min humidity was 23% and Max of 52%. wtf? How can I safely raise the humidity? Wet paper towels/rag, Mist the seedlings, put a cup of water in the dresser, put the domes on again?

Edit: Humidity in the room is at 48%., min 46% max of 55%.
Put some wet folded paper towels in the dresser between the two seedlings along with a tupperware similar to the Afgans container with a bunch of water in it. And a mini ice mountain water bottle under one of the stronger passive intakes of the right side. Will see what that does to the humidity in a couple hours. You think its overkill? What can I do for the long run to manage humidity for both veg/flower, humidifier for inside the cab?

I wouldn't worry about it.. i grow in 30% humidity all the time. No negative effects. If anything you'll have less chance of mold later in flower.

probably just have to water more often.

Bailer the crusader, thank you man! I was tweaking thinking the seedlings are going to stop growing and die from the low humidity. Hope they'll be alright, got the humidity up to about 36-38% max. Do my pictures look like they're healthy, but most importantly do they look normal sized for almost 5 days from sowing the seeds?

BTW: Nice Sour 60, wow.

Hey there stealth,
Just checking in to see how things are coming along. You seem like quite the worrier, I understand you want everything to go perfect but sometimes things you least expect will happen and only then you should worry. I am 1OO% sure that everything looks perfectly normal at this time, in fact its right where things should be even the shell that was stuck you will see this every now and then if you look at my current grow journal, my sage n sour plant, before I started my log had the damn shell stuck to its leaves untill week 3, but didn't hinder growth at all. In other words if the shell was stoppin it from growing you're seedling would of shook that sucker off by simply outgrowing it, but you could of damaged it have you been a lil too rough and lost a plant all together. As for watering I would just get a spray bottle and mist around the plant, if this isn't what you are already doing. Poke your finger 2 inched into the soil if its completley dry you can water. Seedlings don't require a lot of water and remember that overwatering is more severe than underwatering, in fact overwatering is the number one common mistake made by new growers. I didn't water for about 3 days as I'm still mending from a recent serious sickness and the lower leaves where all very droopy but I watered her and she recovered in minutes. Keep it up and try not to worry that much they don't require much at this time just water for now every now and then untill they show sex...also excuse the errors in my post its not too easy posting from my phone.
Shoootz brada, Aloha!

Thanks Boricua, yea I am a worrier! Haha, I am insanely impatient and worry a lot. But very very low humidity and a hole in a leaf during its first 5 days alive I'd think people should get worried! lol, I really hope youre feeling better man. Will check into your thread. Be safe brada, blaze on.

Pictures from last night. How do they look?

Looking good so far!

You have the lights close enough, they aren't getting all stretchie!

The PH appears to be correct, the leaves aren't all gnarled looking.

Thanks guys, the Afgan Ryder is growing a bit weird but looks fine. It growing to the side and wont straighten up, which is alright because I plan on training her. The Blue diesel I don't think I will be training her, unless she gets too large in mid flower. Think I should LST both with my height restriction to be safe?
